President's Marathon

A marathon in the green heart of Forlì

The President's Marathon is one of the most cherished running races in Emilia-Romagna and the flagship event of the Club Super Marathon Italia, an amateur association founded in Forlì in 1996. The race takes place in the Franco Agosto Urban Park, the city's large green lung in the Province of Forlì-Cesena, on a circuit closed to traffic that athletes repeat several times to cover the classic marathon distance of 42.195 km.

The lap-based format makes the race particularly suitable for amateurs: the flat course, entirely within the park, allows runners to maintain their own pace, receive support at each pass, and tackle the queen distance in a close-knit and familiar setting, away from urban traffic.

The spirit of the Club Super Marathon Italia

The President's Marathon was created as a gathering moment for the Club Super Marathon Italia, an association that brings together marathon and ultramarathon runners from all over the country. The race is traditionally accompanied by the club's annual assembly, during which members meet, elect the new board, and renew the president's term: hence the event's name.

Over the years, the race has grown to become a regular fixture for runners in Forlì and the entire Romagna region, enhancing the Urban Park as a city sports space and confirming the deep bond between the club and its city of origin.

A race for marathon runners of all levels

In addition to the marathon, in various editions the event has offered different formats – from half marathons to endurance tests, up to shorter competitive and non-competitive distances – to welcome runners of all levels, from competitive athletes to amateurs on their first long-distance experience. Every participant who crosses the finish line receives the dedicated finisher medal.

Organized with the patronage of the Municipality of Forlì and in collaboration with local running and Avis organizations, the President's Marathon combines sport, solidarity, and a sense of community on a day that is, above all, a celebration for those who love to run.
