About Prato Wine

Prato Wine is a food and wine festival dedicated to viticulture that brings over 100 premium labels from across Italy to the historic center of Prato every spring. With a single glass and a 15-euro ticket, you can enjoy unlimited tastings from the participating wineries, guided by Fisar sommeliers. The 2026 edition, the fourth, moves to the prestigious new setting of Palazzo Vaj on Via Pugliesi, offering unlimited tastings, gourmet food stalls, and plenty of new features for enthusiasts and industry professionals alike.

Prato Wine, the Italian wine festival

Every spring, Prato Wine transforms the historic center of the provincial capital of Prato, in Tuscany, into a sprawling showcase of Italian wine. Launched in 2023, the event has grown with each edition to become a highly anticipated date for enthusiasts, the curious, and industry professionals, featuring over 100 labels selected from top-tier wineries across the peninsula.

How the tasting works

The concept is simple and social: upon entry, you receive a tasting glass and are free to roam between the tasting stations, where producers share the stories behind their wines and sommeliers from the Fisar Prato delegation guide you through the discovery of each label. Tastings are unlimited: you can sample as much as you like, from great Tuscan reds to sparkling wines, and from northern whites to the wines of Southern Italy.

A new home: Palazzo Vaj

For 2026, Prato Wine changes venue and chooses Palazzo Vaj, a historic building on Via Pugliesi in the heart of Pratoโ€”an elegant setting that further enhances the food and wine experience. In previous years, the event was held in other city center locations, a testament to an event in constant growth.

What's new in the 2026 edition

  • Fair-price purchasing: for the first time, it is possible to purchase the tasted labels directly on-site at fair prices, allowing you to take your favorite wines home.
  • Wellness area: a brand-new space dedicated to Pilates and mindful movement, curated by Rebecca Madou, to combine wine culture with self-care.
  • Gourmet stalls: tasting points featuring local specialties and pastries, in collaboration with the master artisans of Confartigianato.

A local event

Prato Wine is organized by a network of local entitiesโ€”Confartigianato Imprese Prato, Fisar Prato, Confesercenti Prato, and Confcommercio Pistoia and Pratoโ€”teaming up to promote wine culture and quality food and wine. One day is traditionally reserved for HoReCa industry professionals (restaurateurs, wine shop owners, and experts), confirming the event's professional vocation.

Between glasses of wine, stories from producers, and the atmosphere of the historic center, Prato Wine is the ideal opportunity to discover the best of Italian viticulture just a stone's throw from the Prato Cathedral.
