About Pontremoli Fantasy
A pop culture festival in the heart of Lunigiana
Pontremoli Fantasy is the festival that brings comics, gaming, cosplay, and nerd culture to the historic center of Pontremoli, a town in the Lunigiana region of the Province of Massa-Carrara, in the far north of Tuscany. Launched in June 2026, the event transforms the squares, streets, and spaces of the medieval village for three days into a large fantasy village with completely free admission, uniting long-time fans, families, and the curious alike.
The initiative is promoted by the Pontremoli Natural Shopping Center in collaboration with the Municipality of Pontremoli, local merchants, and numerous industry players, with the stated goal of becoming a recurring event that energizes the town center and attracts visitors from beyond the region.
What to experience at Pontremoli Fantasy
The festival focuses on gaming in all its forms and a passion for fantasy universes. Among the areas and activities, you will find:
- Cosplay: National Superstar circuit competitions, with categories such as Best Cosplay, Best Prop, Best Group, Best Performance, and the Sympathy Award, as well as the Under 14 competition with the Ciglio Award.
- Role-playing games: Tabletop campaigns and live-action role-playing (LARP) with the Leshen RPG and La Forgia del Fato groups.
- Games Area: 80s and 90s retrogaming stations, board games, a Lego zone, and a Pokémon tournament in collaboration with Spezia Fantasy.
- Shows: Performances by the Steampunk Evolution group with their evocative "steam" violins and live music during the festival evenings.
- Thematic and professional photo sets, children's workshops, and a street food area.
A Hollywood guest
Among the most anticipated guests of the first edition is Lindy Hemming, the Oscar-winning costume designer who created costumes for films such as Harry Potter, The Dark Knight, Wonka, and Wonder Woman, who will headline a panel dedicated to her work in the world of cinema and costume design.

The first edition of Pontremoli Fantasy transformed the historic center of Pontremoli into a village dedicated to pop culture, gaming, and cosplay, with three days full of events and free admission.
The event brought together role-playing groups, exhibitors, cosplayers, and families across the city's squares and historic spaces, with a program that alternated between tournaments, performances, workshops, and entertainment, culminating in the grand cosplay competition on Sunday.

How to get there
By car: Pontremoli is served by the A15 Parma-La Spezia motorway, take the Pontremoli exit. By train: the Pontremoli station is on the Pontremolese line (Parma-La Spezia), just a few minutes' walk from the historic center.
