Plarser Festl

The Plarser Festl in Oberplars, Lagundo

The Plarser Festl is the traditional village festival of Oberplars, in the municipality of Lagundo/Algund, just outside Merano in the autonomous province of Bolzano, Trentino-Alto Adige. It is organized every summer by the 3rd squad (III. Zug) of the Freiwillige Feuerwehr Algund, the local volunteer fire brigade, and represents one of those authentic events that bring the small villages of the Burgraviato to life during the summer season.

The festival takes place in the heart of the village, along the road near Hotel Am Sonneck, set against a backdrop of farmsteads, vineyards, and orchards typical of the sunny slopes of Lagundo. The atmosphere is that of a genuine South Tyrolean Dorffest: long outdoor tables, chatting neighbors, locals, and holiday guests mingling in a relaxed, family-friendly environment.

Music, food, and fun for the little ones

The evening program features live music for dancing and entertainment, alongside local culinary specialties, grilled dishes, and drinks served by the brigade's volunteers. There is also a dedicated children's area, making the event perfect for the whole family. To make attending easy, the organizers provide a free shuttle service from the center of Lagundo to Plars, with stops along the route.

A festival supporting the Fire Brigade

Like many village festivals in South Tyrol, the Plarser Festl has a strong community spirit: the proceeds support the activities of the Volunteer Fire Brigade, a fundamental presence for local safety. Attending means spending a pleasant summer evening while supporting an association deeply rooted in village life.
