The international children's fashion and yarn trade shows at the Fortezza da Basso
Just days apart, the Fortezza da Basso in Florence hosts two of the most important events on the international trade fair calendar, organized by Pitti Immagine: Pitti Immagine Bimbo and Pitti Immagine Filati. In the capital of Tuscany, a city historically linked to the art of textiles and the 'Made in Italy' label, these events attract professionals, buyers, and journalists from all over the world, confirming Florence's status as a global fashion hub.
Pitti Bimbo is the premier international trade show for children's fashion and lifestyle. The pavilions of the Fortezza showcase the most innovative and sought-after brands in the sector, ranging from clothing and footwear to accessories and highly creative, contemporary designs. Over sixty percent of the participating brands come from abroad, reflecting the show's international vocation and its role in welcoming numerous debut labels each season.
Pitti Filati is the world's leading fair dedicated to yarns for knitwear: an absolute benchmark for Italian and international spinning mills, knitwear manufacturers, and textile industry professionals. The show is renowned for its Spazio Ricerca (Research Space), a trend-setting area that anticipates colors, fibers, and inspirations for future seasons, as well as for projects like KnitClub, CustomEasy, and the historic Vintage Selection, dedicated to vintage clothing and accessories.
The choice of Florence as a venue is no coincidence: the city and the entire Tuscany region boast a textile and tailoring tradition rooted in centuries of history, from the Prato district to the historic workshops in the city center. Pitti Immagine, founded in Florence, has made the Fortezza da Basso its headquarters, transforming every edition into a global showcase of Italian creativity and manufacturing excellence.
Pitti Bimbo and Pitti Filati are trade shows reserved for industry professionals (buyers, brands, specialized press). These are not events open to the general public, but professional platforms where collections and commercial relationships for the coming season are built. Their presence, however, deeply enlivens the city of Florence, with collateral events, presentations, and a significant impact on local hotels, restaurants, and businesses.
In June 2026, the Fortezza da Basso in Florence hosts two Pitti Immagine shows simultaneously. Pitti Bimbo 103 takes place on June 24 and 25, while Pitti Filati 99 continues from June 24 to 26. A unique opportunity for buyers and professionals to experience the best of international children's fashion and knitwear in just a few days.
Pitti Bimbo 103 revolves around the concept "The Pitti Pool", a playful, summery take on the world of childhood, featuring over twenty debut brands from Spain, Germany, Austria, and the Netherlands, as well as the new international scouting space The Cabina. Pitti Filati 99 develops the "The Pitti Loom" campaign, with the Spazio Ricerca focusing on the theme Discipline, alongside the KnitClub and CustomEasy sections and the 46th edition of Vintage Selection.
The Fortezza da Basso is located on Viale Filippo Strozzi, just a short walk from the Florence Santa Maria Novella train station, reachable in about ten minutes on foot. The city is well-connected by train to the rest of Italy. Those arriving by car can use the city center parking facilities, keeping in mind that traffic patterns may change during the trade shows.
Pitti Bimbo and Pitti Filati are B2B events reserved for industry professionals. Access is granted via accreditation on the official My Pitti platform. These shows are not open to the general public.
The shows are generally open from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with an early closing on the final day. It is recommended to check the official website for updated hours for each edition.
