Live painting and widespread art in the historic center of Pinerolo
The Pinerolo Art Festival is a young yet vibrant event dedicated to the visual arts that brings the medieval heart of Pinerolo, a city in the Metropolitan City of Turin, Piedmont, to life for an entire day. Established in 2025, the event transforms the streets, porticoes, and squares of the old town into a large open-air art gallery, where the public can watch artists at work and soak up an atmosphere of widespread creativity.
The highlight of the event is the impromptu painting competition: painters from all over Italy paint live throughout the day, reinterpreting the city's views and identity through their own eyes. For the 2026 edition, the proposed theme is "A look at Pinerolo: between past, present, and future," an invitation to tell the story and prospects of the town through colors and brushes.
In addition to the competition, the festival offers a widespread art exhibition with professional artists setting up their works along the streets and under the characteristic medieval porticoes. There is also the "Artists for a Day" creative workshop, curated by Simona Dolce, open to participants of all ages eager to experiment with art freely. The day concludes with the award ceremony for the competition winners, which takes place in the late afternoon in Piazza San Donato.
The Pinerolo Art Festival is organized by the AriadiE20 Artistic Cultural Association, directed by Maria Elena Tarantino with artistic supervision by Silvio Papale, in collaboration with Italia Nostra APS โ Pinerolo Section. The event enjoys the patronage and support of the City of Pinerolo and the patronage of the Metropolitan City of Turin.
Participating in the festival is also a way to discover the historic center of Pinerolo, with its palaces, churches, and porticoes that provide the ideal setting for art. Free admission and a friendly atmosphere make the day suitable for curious visitors, enthusiasts, and families, in one of the freshest and most popular cultural events of the Pinerolo summer.
The second edition of the Pinerolo Art Festival brings the medieval historic center of Pinerolo to life on Sunday, July 5, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Artists paint live under the porticoes, interpreting the theme "A look at Pinerolo: between past, present, and future."
Alongside the impromptu painting competition, the day features a widespread art exhibition with professional artists and the inclusive "Artists for a Day" workshop, curated by Simona Dolce and open to all ages. The award ceremony for the winners takes place at 6:00 PM in Piazza San Donato.
Pinerolo can be reached by train via the TurinโPinerolo line (Pinerolo station), or by car from the A55 motorway (Turin ring road) by following the signs for Pinerolo. The historic center is easily walkable.
The 2026 edition is scheduled for Sunday, July 5, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
Access to exhibitions and activities is free. For registration details for the impromptu painting competition, please contact the AriadiE20 association.
