Pievetta in Fabula

A village that becomes a fairy tale

Every summer, the village of Pievetta, a small hamlet in the municipality of Priola in the upper Tanaro Valley (Province of Cuneo, Piedmont), dresses up and transforms into a giant open-air storybook. Pievetta in Fabula is an event entirely designed for children and families: the ancient streets of the village are populated by fairy-tale characters, colorful sets, and enchanted settings that invite little ones to step into a world of imagination.

The Fantasy Passport

The heart of the experience is the Fantasy Passport: upon entry, every child receives this special document to be stamped while visiting the various settings arranged throughout the village. The visit thus becomes a true adventure, a fairy-tale treasure hunt where every stop offers a new discovery. In past editions, the historic center has been populated by characters such as Peter Pan, Captain Hook, Tinker Bell, Alice in Wonderland, Sleeping Beauty, Rapunzel, The Little Mermaid, and the flower fairies.

Workshops, games, and shows

The day offers numerous free and participatory activities for children:

• creative and artistic workshops (painting, salt dough, woodworking with artisans, crafting objects with natural materials);
• giant bubble shows and entertainment with fairy-tale characters;
• "old-fashioned games" and adventurous challenges along the route;
• background music throughout the village and entertainment for the whole family.

A village festival with a big heart

Pievetta in Fabula was born from the commitment of the Amici di Pievetta Association together with the Pro Loco and the Municipality of Priola, with the work of numerous volunteers who take care of the decorations, costumes, and sets. The event traditionally also has a charitable dimension: in the past, proceeds have been donated to local associations. It is an appointment that, edition after edition, has grown to become one of the most beloved events for families in the upper Tanaro Valley and the Cuneo area.
