The family-friendly Carnival in the heart of Pianella
When the most colorful time of the year arrives, Pianella, a village in the province of Pescara overlooking the Abruzzo hills, gets dressed up for its Carnival Village. The heart of the event is Viale Regina Margherita, in the town center, which comes alive for an entire afternoon with colors, pranks, music, and smiles, creating a real village designed for families and the little ones.
The initiative was born with the goal of giving the children of Pianella and neighboring towns a moment of play and masked joy. The program includes entertainment, musical performances, friendly mascots, bouncy castles, and sweet surprises like cotton candy, for an engaging festive experience suitable for all ages. There is no shortage of confetti and streamers coloring the streets of the center, while children and families parade in their most imaginative costumes.
The Carnival Village is promoted and organized by the Municipal Administration of Pianella together with the local Pro Loco, who collaborate every year to bring one of the most anticipated festivals for young people to the center. Admission is free and open to all, in line with the popular and inclusive spirit of the event, which aims to be an occasion for meeting and socializing for the entire community.
Located a short distance from Pescara, in the heart of Abruzzo, Pianella is a town known for its extra virgin olive oil and a rich calendar of events that accompany the whole year, from a summer full of appointments to winter festivals. The Carnival represents one of the moments in which the popular Abruzzo tradition expresses itself at its best: a simple and genuine celebration, capable of bringing different generations together around the pleasure of play, masks, and being together.
The Pianella Carnival Village is the ideal appointment for those looking for an authentic, child-friendly Carnival celebration, immersed in the typical hospitality of Abruzzo's villages.
