About Night of the Witches Rosciano

Every autumn, the medieval village of Rosciano, in the province of Pescara, transforms into a realm of witches, knights, and fantastic creatures. "In the Night of the Witches" is a traveling theatrical show that has been bringing the historic center's alleys to life since 2011 with acted scenes, live music, street performers, a torture museum, and street food. A dark and fairy-tale re-enactment that weaves together witch legends with historical figures, offering a free event suitable for all ages.

In the Night of the Witches: the village of Rosciano between magic and mystery

In the Night of the Witches is one of the most distinctive autumn events in the Pescara hinterland. Every year, the historic center of Rosciano, a small town in the province of Pescara in Abruzzo, is transformed into a charming medieval setting where dreams and nightmares come to life among alleys, small squares, and illuminated ancient portals.

A traveling theatrical performance

Founded in 2011 by the Albatros Rosciano Artistic-Cultural Association, the event is not just a costume party: it is a true traveling theatrical performance that guides the audience along a route through the village. Each edition stages a new story, performed in stages by actors and companies that blend legends about witches with the lives of real historical figures, including alchemists, heroes, and rogues.

In recent years, the narrative has taken the form of the "The Cavum" trilogy, of which the 2025 edition represented the second chapter, TARTARIA.

Music, art, and attractions

Beyond the main show, the village is filled with activities for all ages:

  • Live music in the squares, with rock bands, street bands, and DJ sets;
  • Street performers, jugglers, fire shows, knife throwing, and acrobatic performances;
  • the famous Torture Museum set up in ancient warehouses, with themed tools and settings;
  • immersive installations such as tunnels and dark paths that cross the village;
  • street food, cocktail bars, and themed markets;
  • the children's show "Little Tender Shivers", a fantasy reinterpretation of classic fairy tales.

A free event in the heart of Abruzzo

The event usually takes place on a Saturday in autumn, close to Halloween, with free admission and a shuttle service to reach the village. The combination of theater, re-enactment, and nocturnal atmosphere has made "In the Night of the Witches" an appointment recognized by the official Abruzzo Tourism portal and one of the most original highlights in the Pescara province event calendar.
