The great inclusive cycling event following the Via Francigena in the Susa Valley
The Pellegrina Legends 4All has become a staple of late summer for cycling enthusiasts in Piedmont. Now in its sixth edition, the 2026 event organized by the Guide Discovery Valsusa association will be based at the Legends Arena in Susa, in the province of Turin. It transforms the Susa Valley into a vast cycling route crossing dozens of municipalities, through villages, countryside, and ancient pilgrimage paths. This is not a timed race, but a non-competitive, cycle-touring event where the joy of riding together matters more than the clock.
The event is centered on the Via Francigena, the historic route that has led pilgrims through the Susa Valley toward the Moncenisio pass for centuries. The Pellegrina tracks partially follow the Ciclovia Francigena, alternating between secondary paved roads, dirt tracks, and rural paths, offering a journey that is as much about sport as it is about culture and scenery. A symbolic highlight of the 2026 edition is the Novalesa Abbey, which celebrates the 1,300th anniversary of its founding (726 AD).
The 2026 edition offers five itineraries starting and ending in Susa, calibrated by length and elevation gain to suit every level of fitness:
The true hallmark of the Pellegrina is its inclusive spirit. The 4ALL project centers on the idea that the bicycle is a tool for social connection and inclusion: the event is open to amateurs, cycle tourists, families, and people with special needs, with dedicated guides and equipment making the routes accessible to those with disabilities. Alongside the ride, there is a bike village featuring entertainment, thematic talks, and music, as well as social gatherings like the food party and award ceremonies.
Organized by Guide Discovery Valsusa, the Pellegrina Legends 4All promotes slow tourism and sustainable mobility throughout the Susa Valley, highlighting the valley's small towns, their traditions, and the region's historical and religious heritage. It is a chance to discover an authentic corner of Piedmont in the saddle, amidst mountains, abbeys, history, and local hospitality.
Susa can be reached by car via the A32 Turin-Bardonecchia motorway (Susa Est/Ovest exit) or by train on the Turin-Bardonecchia line, Susa station. The 2026 event headquarters is the Legends Arena in Susa.
Registration is available online at the official website www.pellegrinabikemarathon.com, opening in May, with last-minute registration available at the bike village. A sports medical certificate is required for the more demanding routes.
Saturday: bike village with thematic talks. Sunday: staggered starts from the morning (gravel and road from 9:30-10:00, 4ALL family route at 11:00), midday food party, and afternoon award ceremony with a raffle.
