Passteggiando is a gastronomic and scenic walk that takes place in Novate Mezzola, in the Province of Sondrio, in the evocative area between the upper Lake Como and lower Valtellina. The route, about 10 kilometers completely flat, winds along the shores of Lake Mezzola, within the Pian di Spagna Nature Reserve, one of the most important wetlands in Lombardy.
Nine stages of taste
The charm of Passteggiando lies in combining the pleasure of slow walking with that of the table. Along the route, there are nine tasting stations, where participants can sample local gastronomic specialties accompanied by regional wines, such as those from the Costiera dei Cech. Departures are staggered in small groups, to calmly enjoy the landscape and the stops.
Nature and tradition
Organized by the Pro Loco of Novate Mezzola, the event is a perfect opportunity to discover a lesser-known corner of Lombardy, where mountains are reflected in the lake and the nature reserve provides the backdrop. Suitable for families and walkers of all levels thanks to the flat route, Passteggiando has become an anticipated event on the summer calendar of the upper lake area.
Passteggiando — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of Passteggiando is scheduled for Sunday, June 14. The route, about 10 kilometers completely flat, follows the lakeshore of Lake Mezzola within the Pian di Spagna Nature Reserve, ending at the Lido di Novate Mezzola. Along the route, nine tasting stations offer local gastronomic specialties and regional wines, such as those from the Costiera dei Cech. Departures are staggered in small groups. Registration is mandatory. The event is organized by the Pro Loco of Novate Mezzola.
