About Partschinser Kirchtig

Every summer, the church square (Kirchplatz) in Parcines/Partschins comes alive for the traditional "Partschinser Kirchtig," a festival organized by the local Volunteer Fire Brigade (Freiwillige Feuerwehr Partschins). Starting at 6:00 PM, with live music from South Tyrolean folk bands, grilled specialties, and refreshing drinks, the Burgraviato village gathers for an evening of conviviality that supports the firefighters' volunteer work. A genuine South Tyrolean tradition, held outdoors and perfect for the whole family.

A village festival in the heart of the Burgraviato

The Fest der Freiwilligen Feuerwehr Partschins, also known as the Partschinser Kirchtig, is the summer festival organized by the Volunteer Fire Brigade (Freiwillige Feuerwehr Partschins EO) in the municipality of Parcines/Partschins, in the Autonomous Province of Bolzano, in the heart of the Trentino-Alto Adige region. It takes place in the church square (Kirchplatz), in the center of the village overlooking the Merano basin, and is one of the most cherished local summer events.

Tradition, community, and volunteering

In keeping with the South Tyrolean Kirchtig tradition (the village festival linked to the parish), the event brings together residents, associations, and guests in an atmosphere of genuine cheer. Proceeds support the activities of the Volunteer Fire Brigade, a cornerstone of community life in Parcines: a group of volunteers that ensures safety and emergency services for the entire municipal area, from the valley floor to the hamlets of Rablà/Rabland and Tel/Töll.

Live music and grilled specialties

The evening begins at 6:00 PM and continues late into the night. The program typically includes:

  • Live music with traditional South Tyrolean folk bands (past performances have included the "Tiroler Herz" group);
  • Grilled specialties and traditional dishes prepared by the volunteers;
  • Refreshing drinks, beer, and local wine;
  • A convivial, open-air atmosphere suitable for families and children.

The Musikkapelle Partschins, the village brass band active for over two centuries, contributes to the rich cultural life of the village and, along with local associations, enlivens the main events of the year.

The village of Parcines/Partschins

Parcines is famous for the Partschins Waterfall (Partschinser Wasserfall), one of the most impressive in the Alps, and for being the birthplace of Peter Mitterhofer, inventor of the typewriter. It is an ideal setting for a village festival that combines nature, tradition, and South Tyrolean hospitality.

Partschinser Kirchtig — edition 2026

The 2026 edition of the Partschinser Kirchtig took place on Saturday, July 4, 2026, in the church square (Kirchplatz) of Parcines/Partschins, starting at 6:00 PM. The Volunteer Fire Brigade welcomed the village and guests with live music, grilled specialties, and refreshing drinks, in an open-air evening dedicated to conviviality and supporting volunteer work.

2026 Edition

The 2026 Fest der Freiwilligen Feuerwehr Partschins was held on Saturday, July 4, 2026, from 6:00 PM in the Kirchplatz of Parcines/Partschins.
