The Minervino panzerotto celebration at Villa Faro
The Panzerotto Festival is one of the most anticipated gastronomic events of the summer in Minervino Murge, a village in the Alta Murgia area of the Barletta-Andria-Trani province, in Apulia. The event transforms the green setting of Villa Faro into a large, convivial space where the absolute star is the panzerotto, the fried specialty that has accompanied Apulian feasts and tables for generations.
The Minervino panzerotto has a distinct identity: the dough is crafted to be extremely thin and crispy, the result of a skillful blend of local flours from the mills of the Alta Murgia. At the numerous food stalls, panzerotti are fried to order and offered in various versions to satisfy the tastes of both adults and children. The festival is also a way to showcase the region's typical products and the Murgia farming culture.
Alongside the food, the evening offers a rich entertainment program designed for all ages: animation shows for the little ones, soap bubble games, dance performances, and live concerts that bring Villa Faro to life until late. Special attention is given to inclusive dance, thanks to the collaboration with local associations.
The event is organized by the Volontari per Minervino '96 Association, with the patronage of the Municipality of Minervino Murge and in collaboration with other local groups. The Panzerotto Festival is part of the "Traditions of Apulia" food and culture series, which offers various events throughout the year dedicated to local flavors and customs, such as the Grape Festival and the Broccoli Rabe Festival. It is an opportunity to rediscover the identity of Minervino Murge through authentic taste, sociality, and community spirit.
The fifth edition of the Panzerotto Festival takes place on Sunday, July 12, 2026, in the grounds of Villa Faro, in Minervino Murge. Organized by the Volontari per Minervino '96 Association with the patronage of the Municipality, the evening combines food stalls dedicated to the Minervino panzerotto with a program of shows for all ages.
The stars of the evening are the panzerotti, fried to order at the various stalls and prepared according to authentic recipes using flour from the Alta Murgia mills.
Food stalls serving panzerotti and traditional Apulian specialties will be open throughout the evening.
Villa Faro, Minervino Murge (BT), Apulia. Admission to the festival is free.
