About Palm Sunday Fair

Every year on Palm Sunday, the historic center of Mosciano Sant'Angelo, in the province of Teramo, comes alive with the Palm Sunday Fair, a traditional pre-Easter event. Stalls featuring handicrafts, local delicacies, sweets, clothing, footwear, and hobby items line the streets and squares of this Abruzzo village, in a day that blends commerce, tradition, and community. It is a wonderful opportunity to stroll through the ancient heart of the town and rediscover the excellence of the Teramo region.

The Palm Sunday Fair in Mosciano Sant'Angelo

The Palm Sunday Fair is one of the most deeply rooted events in the calendar of Mosciano Sant'Angelo, a town in the province of Teramo, Abruzzo. For years, the event has enlivened the town center during the pre-Easter period, attracting exhibitors and visitors from across the Val Vibrata and Teramo area. The event is traditionally held on Palm Sunday, at the gates of Holy Week, and has become a long-awaited ritual that marks the arrival of spring in the village.

A market through the streets of the historic center

For the entire day, the charming setting of the historic center transforms into a large open-air market. Along the streets and squares of the town, numerous stalls are set up, featuring:

  • Local handicrafts and artisanal products;
  • Typical products and sweets from the Abruzzo region;
  • Clothing and footwear;
  • Hobby items and collectibles;
  • and many other exhibitors with a wide variety of goods.

The fair serves as a showcase for local artisans and producers, representing an important moment for the community and for promoting local production and the cultural identity of the territory.

Tradition, art, and culture

Alongside the stalls, the event offers opportunities to discover the village's heritage. Over the years, the Pro Loco Musiano has organized guided tours of the murals that decorate the historic centerโ€”itineraries of about an hour that allow visitors to admire the urban artworks embellishing the alleys of Mosciano. A cultural touch that enriches the visitor experience, blending popular tradition with the rediscovery of the town.

An event for the whole community

Organized by the Municipality of Mosciano Sant'Angelo with the involvement of local associations, the Palm Sunday Fair is a day designed for families, curious visitors, and tourists. It is the ideal occasion to walk through the ancient heart of the town, shop at the stalls, taste local specialties, and enjoy the festive atmosphere that precedes Easter in the Teramo hinterland.
