The historic fair of Mosciano Sant'Angelo on Palm Sunday
The Palm Sunday Fair is one of the most deeply rooted events in the calendar of Mosciano Sant'Angelo, a town in the province of Teramo, Abruzzo. For years, the event has enlivened the town center during the pre-Easter period, attracting exhibitors and visitors from across the Val Vibrata and Teramo area. The event is traditionally held on Palm Sunday, at the gates of Holy Week, and has become a long-awaited ritual that marks the arrival of spring in the village.
For the entire day, the charming setting of the historic center transforms into a large open-air market. Along the streets and squares of the town, numerous stalls are set up, featuring:
The fair serves as a showcase for local artisans and producers, representing an important moment for the community and for promoting local production and the cultural identity of the territory.
Alongside the stalls, the event offers opportunities to discover the village's heritage. Over the years, the Pro Loco Musiano has organized guided tours of the murals that decorate the historic centerโitineraries of about an hour that allow visitors to admire the urban artworks embellishing the alleys of Mosciano. A cultural touch that enriches the visitor experience, blending popular tradition with the rediscovery of the town.
Organized by the Municipality of Mosciano Sant'Angelo with the involvement of local associations, the Palm Sunday Fair is a day designed for families, curious visitors, and tourists. It is the ideal occasion to walk through the ancient heart of the town, shop at the stalls, taste local specialties, and enjoy the festive atmosphere that precedes Easter in the Teramo hinterland.
The 2026 Palm Sunday Fair took place on Sunday, March 29, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, in the historic center of Mosciano Sant'Angelo (TE). As per tradition, the village streets hosted numerous stalls with clothing, handicrafts, footwear, sweets, local products, and hobby items.
A new feature this year was the inauguration of the Arrostiland Museum at Via Anfiteatro 1 (Covered Market), a space dedicated to one of the most representative gastronomic traditions of the area, the arrosticino, in anticipation of the Arrostiland X festival, the tenth edition scheduled for April 6, 2026, Easter Monday. Mayor Giuliano Galiffi and the Councilor for Commerce Ernesto Nobile emphasized the value of the fair for the community and for the promotion of local products.
