About Paganella Family Festival

Every June, the Paganella Plateau dedicates an entire week to families with the Paganella Family Festival, and Molveno, overlooking the lake of the same name at the foot of the Brenta Dolomites, is one of its most beloved locations. Hiking on the Lake Terrace, visits to the fish hatchery to discover Arctic char and lake trout, days at the Acquapark, electric boat and pedal boat rentals, the Zipline Meriz adventure, and nature walks bring this Trentino village to life. A slow and authentic festival, designed for children of all ages and parents looking for an outdoor summer holiday.

The Paganella Family Festival in Molveno

The Paganella Family Festival is the summer event that every year in June dedicates a full week to families on the Paganella Plateau, in the Autonomous Province of Trento (Trentino-Alto Adige). One of its main venues is Molveno, one of Italy's most beautiful villages, nestled on the shores of its emerald lake at the foot of the Brenta Dolomites. Here, the festival offers activities designed for both adults and children, blending water, nature, and adventure.

The lake and its waters

Lake Molveno is the heart of the festival. You can take the Lake Loop, an easy circular path also suitable for strollers that leads to the Napoleonic Forts, or rent electric motorboats, pedal boats, and small go-go boats to explore the water. For the little ones, there is the Molveno Acquapark, featuring slides, swimming pools, a kids' club, and water games, as well as the fun pirate galleon, a free-access playground overlooking the lake.

Nature, animals, and discovery

During the festival week, Molveno becomes an open-air classroom. A visit to the fish hatchery allows you to discover Arctic char and lake trout up close, the native fish species that populate the lake. Guided hikes on the Lake Terrace accompany families in discovering the flora and fauna of the Brenta Dolomites, while in the nearby Parco del Respiro in Fai della Paganella, you can try baby forest bathing, an immersion in the woods featuring legends, barefoot walking, and listening to nature.

Adventure and shows

For those seeking thrills, the Zipline Meriz offers a route of about 500 meters suspended among the trees, with events dedicated to forest exploration. There is no shortage of evening shows for families, such as theatrical storytelling in the woods and magic and circus performances that enliven the entire Plateau. Many activities at the Acquapark, the lake, and the excursions are free or discounted for guests of participating facilities.

A child-friendly territory

Molveno and the Paganella Plateau have long been among the most recognized family destinations in Trentino: during the festival, local hotels offer stays at special prices and packages designed for families. The Paganella Family Festival is thus the ideal opportunity to experience the lake and the Brenta Dolomites at a slow pace, amidst nature, play, and adventure.
