A June week dedicated to families between Lake Molveno and the Brenta Dolomites
The Paganella Family Festival is the summer event that every year in June dedicates a full week to families on the Paganella Plateau, in the Autonomous Province of Trento (Trentino-Alto Adige). One of its main venues is Molveno, one of Italy's most beautiful villages, nestled on the shores of its emerald lake at the foot of the Brenta Dolomites. Here, the festival offers activities designed for both adults and children, blending water, nature, and adventure.
Lake Molveno is the heart of the festival. You can take the Lake Loop, an easy circular path also suitable for strollers that leads to the Napoleonic Forts, or rent electric motorboats, pedal boats, and small go-go boats to explore the water. For the little ones, there is the Molveno Acquapark, featuring slides, swimming pools, a kids' club, and water games, as well as the fun pirate galleon, a free-access playground overlooking the lake.
During the festival week, Molveno becomes an open-air classroom. A visit to the fish hatchery allows you to discover Arctic char and lake trout up close, the native fish species that populate the lake. Guided hikes on the Lake Terrace accompany families in discovering the flora and fauna of the Brenta Dolomites, while in the nearby Parco del Respiro in Fai della Paganella, you can try baby forest bathing, an immersion in the woods featuring legends, barefoot walking, and listening to nature.
For those seeking thrills, the Zipline Meriz offers a route of about 500 meters suspended among the trees, with events dedicated to forest exploration. There is no shortage of evening shows for families, such as theatrical storytelling in the woods and magic and circus performances that enliven the entire Plateau. Many activities at the Acquapark, the lake, and the excursions are free or discounted for guests of participating facilities.
Molveno and the Paganella Plateau have long been among the most recognized family destinations in Trentino: during the festival, local hotels offer stays at special prices and packages designed for families. The Paganella Family Festival is thus the ideal opportunity to experience the lake and the Brenta Dolomites at a slow pace, amidst nature, play, and adventure.
From June 14 to 21, 2026, the Paganella Family Festival offered a week dedicated to families on the Paganella Plateau, with Molveno as one of the main venues. The days combined water, nature, and adventure, with activities designed for children of all ages.
The program alternated between the guided hike on the Lake Terrace of Molveno (June 16), the visit to the fish hatchery to learn about Arctic char and lake trout (June 17), the new Mega Bugs trail among giant insects and baby forest bathing in the Parco del Respiro (June 18), and the Zipline Meriz adventure (June 19). On the lake, electric boat and pedal boat rentals, the Molveno Acquapark, and the pirate galleon were available. In the evening, family shows such as theatrical storytelling in the woods and magic shows took place.
By car: A22 Brenner motorway exit at San Michele all'Adige/Mezzocorona, then SS43 and SP421 towards Molveno (about 40 km from Trento). By train: Trento station, then local bus to the Paganella Plateau. Nearest airports: Verona Villafranca and Bergamo Orio al Serio.
Many activities are free or discounted for guests of participating facilities. Molveno hotels offer stay packages at special prices during the festival week. Detailed program and bookings on the official website visitpaganella.it.
