Caccia al Natale is the annual December event that transforms the historic center of Mezzocorona into a charming Christmas village for families. The festival takes place in the evocative setting of Palazzo Firmian, overlooking Piazza della Chiesa, offering a full afternoon of activities designed for children, parents, and grandparents. Located in the province of Trento, in the heart of the Piana Rotaliana—the famous wine-growing valley of Trentino-Alto Adige known for its Teroldego—the town provides the perfect backdrop for this celebration.

A Christmas adventure for all ages

For two days, from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM, the palace and surrounding streets come alive with lights, colors, and surprises. The theme is discovery: visitors are encouraged to explore, play, and challenge themselves through various workshops, all within the warm and welcoming atmosphere typical of a Trentino Christmas.

Program of activities

• Salviamo il Natale (Saving Christmas) — a family treasure hunt organized by APPM, guiding participants through a multi-stage mission across the town.
• Luci di Natale (Christmas Lights) — an ongoing creative workshop by FantArte where children can craft their own decorations.
• The Elf on the Shelf & Co — the Mezzocorona Library hosts a new themed workshop every hour.
• Santa's Post Office — a place to drop off letters and meet Santa Claus in person.
• Giocolandia — a play area animated by the Mezzocorona Scout Group.
• Face Painting — to transform into your favorite magical character.
• La Locanda di Rudolph (Rudolph's Inn) — a refreshment area serving hot drinks and sweets for all ages.

The Filodrammatica San Gottardo theater group also contributes with performances and storytelling, showcasing the true spirit of community collaboration.

A community-driven event

Caccia al Natale is promoted by the Piana Rotaliana Königsberg Tourist Board in collaboration with local associations. It is a shining example of how a small Trentino town can use volunteer efforts to create a high-quality, completely free event open to everyone.
