The Over 60 Kayak Gathering is a sporting event held in Balmuccia, a small town in the Valsesia valley in the province of Vercelli, in the heart of Piedmont. Reserved for kayakers over the age of sixty, the event was created to prove that a passion for the river knows no age limit; its motto, now an icon of the event, is the famous "I may wobble, but I won't quit!"

The event takes place on the Sesia River, considered one of the most beautiful and technical waterways in Europe for kayaking and river sports. Its clear waters, fed by the glaciers of Monte Rosa, flow through spectacular gorges and rapids that attract paddlers from all over Italy and abroad every year. The historic Balmuccia rapid is one of the most well-known among whitewater enthusiasts.

The gathering is organized by the Monrosa Rafting center, which has been active in Balmuccia since 1990 and is affiliated with the Italian canoe, kayak, and rafting federations. The philosophy of the day prioritizes conviviality and meeting fellow enthusiasts over competition: the gathering is an opportunity to reunite, share experiences, navigate the river together, and prove that age is just a number when it comes to a passion for the water.
