Five days of free comedy and jazz in Piazza Anco Marzio, Ostia Lido
The Ostia Festival is the major late-spring event that brings Piazza Anco Marzio to lifeโthe beating heart of Ostia Lido, the seaside district of the Municipality of Rome in Lazio. From May 29 to June 2, the square and the surrounding streets transform into an open-air stage dedicated to music, comedy, and local culture, with a completely free program.
The festival kicks off with Ostia in Rosa, two comedy nights celebrating the Giro d'Italia passing through the Roman coastline. On May 29 and 30 at 9:00 PM, the stage in Piazza Anco Marzio will host two beloved icons of Italian comedy, Gabriele Cirilli and Antonio Giuliani, for two shows perfect for the whole family.
From May 31 to June 2, the spotlight turns to the first edition of the Ostia Jazz Festival, featuring free open-air concerts across Piazza Anco Marzio, Via dei Misenati, and Piazza della Stazione Vecchia. The lineup features a mix of soloists and bands, including jazz heavyweights like Danilo Rea, Brazilian singer Rosalia De Souza, the Francesco Bruno 4Tet, and the Valter Paiola & Califano Latino Orchestra. The final day, June 2, is dedicated to blues with sessions curated by the legendary Alexanderplatz Jazz Club.
Promoted by Rome Capital in collaboration with local businesses and cultural organizations, the Ostia Festival blends entertainment with urban revitalization. By bringing nationally renowned comedians and top-tier musicians to Ostia's outdoor living room, the event aims to relaunch the Lido center as a cultural destination beyond its seaside appeal. All shows are free, drawing residents and visitors alike and turning the historic Piazza Anco Marzio into a vibrant meeting point for all generations.
The inaugural edition of the Ostia Festival took place from May 29 to June 2, 2026, in Piazza Anco Marzio, Ostia Lido.
