Wine Tourism Opens the Doors of Umbrian Wineries
Cantine Aperte is the event that every year, on the last weekend of May, invites enthusiasts to discover the world of wine directly at the wineries. Organized in Umbria by the Movimento Turismo del Vino Umbria, the initiative involves over forty associated wineries spread throughout the regional territory.
All of Umbria's Wine
The participating wineries range from Montefalco (with realities like Arnaldo Caprai, Antonelli, and Lungarotti) to Torgiano, passing through Orvieto, Assisi, Bevagna, Umbertide, Lake Trasimeno, and naturally Perugia. The program offers tastings, guided tours of the wineries, gastronomic events, picnics in the vineyards, dinners with the winemaker, and e-bike tours through the vineyards.
The Perugia Stop: Cantina Goretti
Among the protagonists in Perugia is Cantina Goretti, which for the occasion offers a rich program of tastings, music, Umbrian cuisine, and activities for families. Cantine Aperte is also linked to a dimension of solidarity: the tasting kit contributes to fundraising for research (AIRC), an initiative that in past editions has raised over €372,000.
Open Cellars — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of Cantine Aperte in Umbria will be held on May 30 and 31 (with previews starting May 29 in some wineries), involving over 40 wineries associated with the Movimento Turismo del Vino Umbria, from Montefalco and Torgiano to Orvieto, Assisi, Bevagna, and Trasimeno. In Perugia, Cantina Goretti is among the highlights with a program spread over several days.
Experiences include tastings, guided tours, picnics in the vineyards, dinners with the winemaker, and e-bike tours. The tasting kit contributes to fundraising for AIRC research.

Friday, May 29
- Winemaker's Dinner with typical Umbrian dishes paired with Goretti wines and DJ Spear (reservation required)
Saturday, May 30
- 10:30 AM — Wine & Paint, painting workshop with tasting
- 11:00 AM — Yoga session with Roberta Grasselli (free, reservation required)
- 4:00 PM — Swing dance lesson (free)
- 5:00 PM — Book presentation with actress Gaia Zucchi ("La vicina di Zeffirelli")
- Entertainment for children and food trucks
Sunday, May 31
- Tastings of Goretti wines, including "L'Arringatore"
- Vertical tasting of L'Arringatore (vintages 2006, 2010, 2018, 2021)
- Lunch on the panoramic terrace overlooking the tower and the city
- Exclusive guided tours of the historic cellars
- Exclusive helicopter tours (max 4 passengers), kids' corner, and pet-friendly area

How to Participate
The list of participating wineries, opening hours, and booking for experiences are available on the official portal mtvumbria.it. Many activities require booking; the tasting kit (glass, lanyard, and tasting) can be purchased at the winery.
