Music and heritage between Assisi and Perugia
The Cambio Festival is a musical review that blends jazz, world music, and chamber music with the enhancement of historical sites in the area between Assisi and Perugia, in Umbria. Founded in 2000 by the Ponte Levatoio association, the festival's characteristic is to bring great music to unusual and evocative settings: castles, medieval churches, ancient villages.
The Castello di Palazzo di Assisi
The heart of the event is the summer concerts held at the Castello dei Figli di Cambio in Palazzo di Assisi, a hamlet of the municipality of Assisi. However, the review extends to multiple venues in the region, including Castel San Gregorio, the church of Santo Stefano in Costa di Trex, and the Auditorium San Francesco al Prato in Perugia, creating a widespread calendar that runs from spring to winter.
Cambio Parole and critical thinking
Alongside the concerts, the Cambio Festival offers the Cambio Parole section, a series of meetings dedicated to critical thinking and cultural exchange. This is the festival's dual soul: research music on one hand, reflection and dialogue on the other, in constant dialogue with the history and identity of the places that host it.

The 2026 edition of the Cambio Festival runs from June 6, 2026, to February 6, 2027, between Assisi and Perugia. The program alternates jazz, world music, and chamber music in historic venues in the region, alongside critical thinking meetings in the Cambio Parole section. The highlight in Assisi is the three-day event in mid-July at the Castello di Palazzo di Assisi.
