Open Cellars, the wine festival of the Movimento Turismo del Vino
Open Cellars is the best-known wine tourism event in Italy, organized every year by the Movimento Turismo del Vino on the last weekend of May. In Umbria, it involves over forty wineries associated with MTV Umbria, which open their doors for tastings, visits to vineyards and cellars, dinners with winemakers, and family activities.
The Ficulle stop: Tenuta Vitalonga
In Ficulle, in the Province of Terni, Tenuta Vitalonga participates. It is an organic farm with a tavern located on Strada Maravalle, in the hills of the Orvieto area bordering Tuscany. For the 2026 edition, the estate offers the program 'Glasses, aromas, and walks among the rows': walks through woods and vineyards, tastings of the estate's great red wines, a dinner with the winemaker, and convivial moments with street food and live music.
An estate in the heart of the Orvieto area
Tenuta Vitalonga is a member of MTV Umbria and represents one of the most interesting wine-producing realities in the Ficulle territory. Open Cellars is the ideal opportunity to discover the estate's wines directly on-site, among the vines and in the company of those who produce the wine. A portion of the proceeds from the tasting kit is traditionally donated to the AIRC Foundation for cancer research.
Open Cellars Vitalonga — edition 2026
For 2026, Tenuta Vitalonga joins the 34th edition of Open Cellars by Movimento Turismo del Vino Umbria with the program 'Glasses, aromas, and walks among the rows'. On the weekend of May 30 and 31, the Ficulle estate offers guided walks through woods and vineyards, tastings of the estate's great red wines, and gastronomic moments with street food. Saturday evening is dedicated to the Dinner with the Winemaker, while Sunday continues with tastings in the estate's natural setting and live music. How to get there
Tenuta Vitalonga is located on Strada Maravalle, in Ficulle (TR). It can be reached by car from the A1 motorway (Fabro exit) or from the SS71. The nearest train station is Fabro-Ficulle.
