Oktobeerfest: Bavaria arrives in Crispiano

Every year, between late summer and early autumn, the Symposium Cafè in Crispiano transforms for a few nights into an authentic Bavarian Bierhaus. The Oktobeerfest is the Apulian take on the famous Munich beer festival: a delicious and carefree event that brings the aromas, flavors, and convivial joy of German tradition to the heart of the Itria Valley, in the province of Taranto.

What to eat and drink

The undisputed star is the beer: fantastic draught lagers in perfect Oktoberfest style and the famous bottled Paulaner Weiß, the classic Munich wheat beer. To accompany your mugs, a menu rich in Bavarian specialties prepared just right:

• Pork knuckle slow-cooked in beer, served with sauerkraut and potatoes
• Wurst and bockwurst in a bun, German-style hot dogs
• Half roast chicken, a great classic from the Munich tents
• Spiced goulash and grilled ribs

Everything is served at large communal tables, where you sit elbow-to-elbow just like in the traditional Oktoberfest tents, amidst toasts and singing.

Live music every night

Beyond the beer and food, every night of the Oktobeerfest is accompanied by live concerts. The Symposium Cafè stage hosts a rotation of bands and tribute acts ranging from rock to pop, funk, and the greatest hits of the nineties, turning dinner into a true party that lasts late into the night.

Admission to the Oktobeerfest is free: you only pay for what you consume. Table reservations are recommended due to the high turnout.
