Three evenings of art, culture, and gastronomy in the village of Castello di Novilara
Novilara Arte Gusto is one of the most beloved summer events in the Pesaro area, in the Marche region. It takes place every July in the charming Castello di Novilara, an ancient fortified village located on the hills dividing Pesaro from Fano, a few kilometers from the Adriatic coast. For three evenings, the streets, small squares, and historic center spaces come alive with a program that blends art, culture, music, and gastronomy, true to the event's motto: "From Culture to the Table."
The absolute star of the table is Novilara's signature dish: tagliatelle with Novilara beans, a recipe that has received the De.Co. (Municipal Denomination of Origin) recognition from the Municipality of Pesaro. At the food stands set up in the village, you can taste this specialty along with wines from Vignaioli al Castello and craft beers with curated pairings. Among the recent additions, there's also a gluten-free version of the tagliatelle, ensuring truly inclusive hospitality.
Beyond the food, Novilara Arte Gusto offers a rich program of entertainment spread across the main stage, the small theater space, the school area, and the entrance arch. Live concerts, vinyl sets, cabaret shows with artists from the Zelig circuit, comedy magic, photographic exhibitions, and art installations decorating the village's nooks and crannies alternate. There's also space for culture with the Premio Scrittura in C.I.B.O. (Writing Prize in FOOD), a literary competition dedicated to the traditional cuisine of villages.
Visiting Novilara Arte Gusto also means discovering one of the most characteristic villages in the Municipality of Pesaro: the Castello di Novilara preserves its medieval layout with its walls, walkways, and a belvedere overlooking the hills. The event, organized by the Associazione Culturale La Stele (Cultural Association The Star) with the support of the Municipality of Pesaro and the Marche Region, keeps alive the community's spirit of togetherness and hospitality, in a familiar and genuine atmosphere that sets it apart from more commercial festivals.
The 14th edition of Novilara Arte Gusto (July 10โ12, 2026) confirms the "From Culture to the Table" formula with a program spread across the main stage, small theater space, school area, and entrance arch.
Among the music and entertainment events: Blue Klein and Kalabrugovic with Federica Ferrero (from Zelig) on Friday; The Andy MacFarlane Two Man Orchestra, Elianto with Alice Redini (from Zelig), and the Drumwerk Project on Saturday; Lily, the comedy magic show Lucchettino, and the Bologna Bridge Band on Sunday. There's also space for vinyl sets by Sorboloungee and Pet.
On Sunday morning, the Ciclotagliatella (8:00 AM) and Mototagliatella (9:00 AM) start, with a final lunch requiring booking. Among this year's new features are the gluten-free menu and the sixth edition of the Premio Scrittura in C.I.B.O. on the theme "Traditional Cuisine of Villages Today."
The Castello di Novilara is located in the hills south of Pesaro, in the province of Pesaro and Urbino (Marche). By car: take the Pesaro exit from the A14 motorway, then provincial roads towards the hills (about 10 km from the center). The nearest train station is Pesaro, on the Bologna-Ancona Adriatic line; from there, continue by car or local transport.
Admission: โฌ5 (free for children under 12). Friday and Saturday evenings start from 6:30 PM, Sundays from 6:00 PM. Some activities (Slow Food tastings, Ciclotagliatella, Mototagliatella) require booking.
