The oldest festival in the province of Pesaro and Urbino, dedicated to the famous Montelabbate peach
The Sagra delle Pesche di Montelabbate is the oldest popular festival in the province of Pesaro e Urbino: the first edition dates back to 1946, when the community decided to pay homage to the fruit that has identified this corner of the Marche hinterland for centuries. As early as the 16th century, in fact, the peaches from the upper Pesaro area were appreciated for their beauty and taste, and the Montelabbate peach is still a recognized excellence of the territory today. By tradition, the festival is held in the third week of July, at the peak of the fruit's ripening season.
The heart of the festival is the Hornburg Park in Montelabbate, a municipality of about seven thousand inhabitants nestled in the hills a few kilometers from Pesaro, along the Foglia valley. The park's name commemorates its twinning with the German town of Hornburg, linked to Montelabbate by the figure of Pope Clement II. Under the park's lime trees, food stalls, music stages, and areas dedicated to peach exhibitions come to life.
The Sagra delle Pesche is an authentic village festival, made of rustic flavors and conviviality. Among the events that have always marked its program, you will find:
The event is organized by the Pro Loco of Montelabbate with the support of the Municipality and the involvement of the Province of Pesaro e Urbino. In recent years, the festival has combined traditional celebration with initiatives for solidarity and social inclusion, such as multi-ethnic sewing workshops and the donation of proceeds from the peach exhibition to humanitarian projects. A festival that, edition after edition, continues to keep alive the rural identity of Montelabbate and the entire Marche region.
The 80th Sagra delle Pesche di Montelabbate will be held from July 19 to 26, 2026, at Hornburg Park. A special anniversary for the oldest popular festival in the province of Pesaro and Urbino, founded in 1946. The collateral initiatives, such as the gastronomic event dedicated to promoting the Montelabbate peach and the sewing and social inclusion workshop, are also confirmed based on initial communications from the Municipality.
The detailed day-by-day program, including orchestras, shows, and schedules, is usually published by the Pro Loco in the weeks leading up to the festival: it will be announced starting from July on the official channels of the Municipality and the Pro Loco of Montelabbate.
The detailed program for the 80th edition will be announced by the Pro Loco of Montelabbate in the weeks preceding the event (usually starting in July).
Based on the festival's established structure, expected events include:
