The open-air music festival for the youth of the Wipptal in Vipiteno
The Nordpark Festival is a free-entry open-air music festival held in the Nordpark of Vipiteno (Sterzing), in the Upper Isarco Valley, in the province of Bolzano, Trentino-Alto Adige. Created to provide a platform for young musicians from the Wipptal, the festival is organized by the Wipptal Youth Service (Jugenddienst Wipptal) and is one of the most anticipated events of the summer for the local youth.
The unique feature of the Nordpark Festival is its location: the Nordpark, the wooded green area just above the Vipiteno bus stop, is set up as a true open-air stage immersed in nature. In this evocative setting, various bands take the stage throughout a long day of music, which usually kicks off in the early afternoon and continues until late at night.
The heart of the festival is the young bands from the Wipptal and South Tyrol, often performing on stage for the first time. Regulars include Cauchella, the official band of the Youth Service composed of young people from across the valley. Alongside local groups, more established acts from the South Tyrolean scene also perform, with a lineup spanning rock, pop, and indie sounds. The festival is part of the #southtyrolmusicfestivals initiative, a network bringing together over fifty music festival organizers in South Tyrol.
The Nordpark Festival is much more than just a concert: it is a youth engagement project that places live music at the center of life in the Municipality of Vipiteno and the entire Wipptal, offering local youth a real stage and the public a free day of celebration in the heart of South Tyrol.
The Nordpark Festival 2026 will take place on Saturday, July 25, 2026, in the Nordpark of Vipiteno (Sterzing), continuing the summer tradition organized by the Wipptal Youth Service. Admission will be free, and food and drink stalls will be available on-site.
At the moment, the official lineup for the 2026 edition has not yet been published. The detailed schedule, including band names and performance times, will be announced by the organizers on the festival's social media channels closer to the date.
The festival is held in the Nordpark of Vipiteno (Sterzing), the wooded area located just above the bus stop.
Vipiteno can be reached by train (Vipiteno-Val di Vizze station on the Brenner line) and by car via the A22 Brenner motorway, taking the Vipiteno exit. The Nordpark is within walking distance from the town center.
Admission to the festival is free. Food and drink stalls are available on-site.
Updates on dates and the program are available on the festival's social media channels (@nordpark.festival) and the Wipptal Youth Service pages.
