A musical journey beyond the blues on the terraces of the Teatro Tosti in Ortona
The Non Solo Blues Festival is one of the most refined musical offerings of the summer in Ortona, a town overlooking the Adriatic and the heart of the Costa dei Trabocchi, in the province of Chieti, Abruzzo. As the name suggests, the festival is not limited to the blues: under the artistic direction of maestro Roberto De Grandis, the program explores diverse genres, from classical music to soul, folk, funk, and Latin jazz, offering the audience a rich and unpredictable listening experience.
The strength of the event also lies in its choice of locations, which highlight the city's historical and architectural heritage. Concerts are primarily hosted on the terraces of the Teatro Francesco Paolo Tosti, overlooking the sea, though over the years the festival has also enlivened the Church of Santa Caterina along Corso Garibaldi and the central Piazza San Tommaso, which has hosted the most popular performances. It is no coincidence that the festival has hosted nationally renowned artists in Ortona, such as Max Gazzรจ, who performed in front of a large crowd in Piazza San Tommaso in 2021.
The Non Solo Blues Festival is included in the Estate Ortonese program, the extensive calendar of events promoted by the Municipality of Ortona that, from July to September, distributes over eighty appointments between the city center and the surrounding districts. Music, culture, sport, and tradition alternate thanks to the contribution of over one hundred local associations, and the musical festival represents one of the most prestigious events of the summer program.
For the 2026 edition, the festival has been announced as one of the highlights of the Estate Ortonese, marking a long-awaited return after several seasons. At the moment, the exact dates and the artistic lineup for the 2026 edition have not yet been released: the events will take place during the summer window between July and September, in keeping with the tradition of the Ortona event.
