The Rione del Pallò district festival with grills, live music, and DJ sets in Impruneta
The Nizzano Green Festival is one of the most beloved summer celebrations in Impruneta, located in the Metropolitan City of Florence, in the heart of Tuscany. Organized by the Rione del Pallò, one of the four districts that bring the famous Impruneta Grape Festival to life, the event takes place in the district area of Nizzano, along the road to Pozzolatico, on the rolling hills that separate Florence from the Chianti region.
Originally conceived as a way to raise funds and foster community spirit, the festival has grown over the years into a highly anticipated local tradition. It spans eight consecutive nights over two weekends in late May, offering quality cuisine, music for every taste, and activities for all ages, all while celebrating the greenery that gives the event its name.
The gastronomic heart of the festival is the district grill, managed entirely by volunteers from the Pallò district. The menu features sandwiches, burgers, grilled specialties, fried fish on select nights, and traditional Tuscan dishes, with a focus on vegetarian and gluten-free options. A bar area serving cocktails is also available, creating a convivial atmosphere under the marquee.
Every night has its own soundtrack: from 90s Eurodance hits to early 2000s pop-punk, and from rock to dance nights with DJ sets featuring reggaeton, commercial, house, and electronic music. The festival alternates between concerts by emerging local bands, themed nights, and interactive events like the foosball tournament and the Quizzettone trivia game, which directly involve the audience.
The Nizzano Green Festival is an integral part of life in the districts of Impruneta, which organize numerous events throughout the year to prepare for the great challenge of the Grape Festival—the historic parade of allegorical floats made entirely of grapes that attracts thousands of visitors in the autumn. Attending the festival means experiencing the true heart of Impruneta's identity and its ancient traditions rooted in viticulture, terracotta craftsmanship, and local conviviality.
Admission to the area is free: you only pay for what you consume. It is a festival designed for families, young people, and anyone looking to spend a genuine evening enjoying good food, music, and the hospitality typical of the Florentine hills.
The 2026 edition of the Nizzano Green Festival brought the Rione del Pallò in Impruneta to life for eight nights, from May 14 to 24, spread over two weekends. Between the district's grills, fried fish, sandwiches, and vegetarian and gluten-free options, the festival offered different music every night, from 90s and 2000s hits to rock and dance nights with DJ sets. There was also room for more playful moments like the foosball tournament and the Quizzettone, in a convivial atmosphere that brought the entire Impruneta community together.
