About Night of the Artists
A night of art through the village alleys
The Night of the Artists is one of the most cherished summer events in Casalvecchio Siculo, a small town in the Ionian hinterland of the Messina province, in the heart of Sicily. For one evening, the ancient medieval village transforms into a true open-air museum: the alleys, stone arches, and historic squares, particularly along Via S. Onofrio, become a widespread stage for artists of all kinds.
Art, music, and live performances
The program weaves together various forms of expression: contemporary art, poetry, photography, and live music meet street performance arts. Along the route, you will encounter:
- painters creating works live;
- musicians and singers enlivening the corners of the village;
- jugglers, stilt walkers, acrobats, and street performers;
- photographers and contemporary art exhibitors;
- the historic town band (Corpo Musicale) of Casalvecchio Siculo.
There is also space for the younger generations, with the participation of local dance schools and moments designed to involve families and children.
Street food and tastings
Alongside the shows, the evening offers street food stalls and tastings of local products, allowing you to discover the flavors of Sicilian tradition while strolling among the installations and artistic performances.
A village to discover
The event is also a perfect opportunity to visit Casalvecchio Siculo, a village perched among the hills of the Agrò Valley, known for its authentic atmosphere and proximity to the Norman abbey of Santi Pietro e Paolo d'Agrò. The event, organized by the Pro Loco Casalvecchio Siculo, celebrates the historic heritage and cultural identity of the town, attracting visitors from the nearby municipalities of the Ionian coast of Messina.

How to get there
Casalvecchio Siculo is located in the Ionian hinterland of the Messina province. By car, it can be reached from the A18 Messina-Catania motorway (Roccalumera-Santa Teresa di Riva exit), continuing inland along the Agrò Valley. The nearest train station is in Santa Teresa di Riva, on the Messina-Syracuse line.

Free entry. The event takes place in the historic center of the village.
Tips
We recommend wearing comfortable shoes to navigate the alleys and slopes of the medieval village and arriving early to park in the areas outside the historic center.
