New Year's Eve between the Trepponti and fireworks over the San Pietro bridge
Known as Little Venice for its canals, bridges, and ancient fish markets, Comacchio celebrates New Year's Eve with a large public festival that transforms the historic center into an open-air stage. The heart of the celebrations is the evocative Piazzetta Trepponti, where the monumental bridge with five flights of stairs, the city's emblem, serves as a scenic backdrop for one of the most anticipated winter events in the Municipality of Comacchio and the entire Emilia-Romagna region.
The evening of December 31st comes alive in the late afternoon with the opening of the refreshment area at the Antica Pescheria and continues with the New Year's Eve aperitif enlivened by DJ sets, vocalists, and dancers. As evening falls, the Trepponti staircase becomes the focal point of the show, with light effects, luminous cold fountains, Roman candles, and choreography that build anticipation for midnight.
At the stroke of midnight, the pyromusical fireworks display illuminates the sky and reflects on the water of the canals in front of the San Pietro bridge, accompanied by a captivating soundtrack. It is the most spectacular moment of the night, with fireworks mirroring in the lagoon's canals. After the show, the party doesn't stop: the DJ set, pyrotechnic effects, and laser shows continue in the historic center until the early hours of the morning.
The celebrations continue on January 1st, when Piazzetta Trepponti comes alive again in the afternoon with music and DJ sets, to convivially accompany the start of the new year among visitors enjoying a stroll through the lagoon village.
