The great fairy tale park for children and families
Every September, the Parco Urbano Giorgio Bassani, Ferrara's large green lung, transforms into an enchanted world where timeless fairy tales come to life. Ferrara in Fiaba is one of the most beloved events for children and families in Emilia-Romagna: two weekends designed to make children dream and give families a different kind of day, amidst princesses, pirates, dragons, and fantastic creatures.
The park becomes a grand themed itinerary, with meticulously crafted sets and photo opportunities. You can go from Cinderella's carriage to the Ice Kingdom, from the sea depths of The Little Mermaid to the pirate galleon, and to the worlds of Encanto, Aladdin, and the Island of Emotions. There's also the Medieval Area with Robin Hood and King Arthur, the cottage of the 7 Dwarfs, and the Park of Giant Pumpkins, in a route that blends classic fairy tales with the cartoons most loved by today's children.
In addition to the settings, the event offers a packed entertainment program: puppet shows, storytellers, dance and music moments, and numerous creative workshops designed for every age group, from sensory areas in Montessori style for the little ones to ateliers for older children. Among the most popular attractions are the inflatable planetarium of the Little Explorers of the Universe, the adventure of the Pirates of the Po aboard the Nena boat, ancient wooden games, spaces dedicated to building blocks, and many interactive experiences.
Ferrara in Fiaba combines fun and solidarity: park entry is free, and the event supports the activities of the Giulia ODV Association. For visitors, there is also a large street food area, a market for families, and services designed for parents, such as nursing and changing areas for the little ones. An event that each year attracts thousands of families to Ferrara from the entire province and neighboring regions.
The thirteenth edition of Ferrara in Fiaba is scheduled for two weekends in September 2026: September 18, 19, and 20, and September 25, 26, and 27, at the Parco Urbano Giorgio Bassani in Ferrara. Six days dedicated to children and families, with the park transformed into a grand fairy tale kingdom.
The detailed program for the 2026 edition, including the complete list of themed areas, shows, and workshops, will be published by the organization in the weeks preceding the event on the official website ferrarainfiaba.it. In line with previous editions, interactive settings inspired by classic fairy tales and the most beloved cartoons are expected, along with creative workshops for all ages, stage shows, and numerous outdoor play areas.
The detailed program for the 13th edition (themed areas, shows, schedules, and workshops) will be announced by the organization in the weeks preceding the event on the official website ferrarainfiaba.it and on the event's social media channels.
