New Year's Eve in Piazza Dolomiti, on the Paganella Plateau
New Year's Eve in Andalo is one of the most anticipated winter events on the Paganella Plateau, in the municipality of Andalo, in the province of Trento, in the heart of Trentino-Alto Adige. On New Year's Eve, Piazza Dolomiti, the town's beating heart, transforms into a large open-air stage where residents and tourists gather to welcome the new year, framed by the snow-capped peaks of the Brenta Dolomites.
The square party kicks off at 10:30 PM with music, DJ sets, and plenty of entertainment for both adults and children. As the countdown approaches, steaming mulled wine, hot tea, and other drinks are served to warm the atmosphere while waiting for midnight. At the turn of the year, the traditional collective toast welcomes the new year with the smiles and energy typical of Andalo.
The highlight of the evening is the midnight fireworks display: the fireworks illuminate the sky above the town, and their colors reflect on the snow and the Dolomite peaks, creating a spectacle visible from almost every corner of the center. The day of December 31st is also enlivened by the evocative torchlight processions on the snow: in the late afternoon, at the nursery slopes, ski instructors descend the slopes with lit torches, drawing luminous serpentine patterns on the snowy ground, arriving in the square for the lighting of the bonfire and further pyrotechnic displays.
New Year's Eve in Andalo is part of a rich calendar of Christmas and end-of-year events. Beyond the square party, offerings range from concerts—such as the evocative candlelight concerts in the church—to Ski Night Shows featuring performances by ski instructors and snow groomers, as well as numerous snow activities in the Paganella ski area. Local bars and restaurants offer gala dinners and dance parties that extend the celebrations well past midnight.
Organized by Andalo Vacanze with the support of local entities on the Paganella Plateau, New Year's Eve in Andalo is the ideal choice for those wishing to celebrate New Year's Eve in a mountain setting, blending tradition, fun, and Dolomite landscapes.
The transition from 2025 to 2026 was celebrated in Andalo with the traditional party in Piazza Dolomiti. From 10:30 PM, music, DJ sets, and entertainment for all ages accompanied the wait for midnight, with the distribution of mulled wine, hot tea, and drinks. As the clock struck twelve, the collective toast and the fireworks display illuminated the sky above the Paganella Plateau.
The day of December 31, 2025, also featured torchlight processions on the snow by ski instructors at the nursery slopes, arriving in the square for the bonfire, in addition to concerts and events in local venues. Free admission to the party in the square.
Andalo is located on the Paganella Plateau, about 40 km from Trento. By car: take the A22 Brenner motorway exit at San Michele all'Adige-Mezzocorona, then follow the SS43 and SP64 to Andalo. By train: arrive at Trento or Mezzocorona station, then continue by bus (Trentino Trasporti lines).
The main party is held in Piazza Dolomiti, in the town center. The torchlight processions and snow shows take place at the nursery slopes (Rindole/Laghet).
Free admission to the party in the square. We recommend wearing warm winter clothing, snow-appropriate footwear, and arriving early to secure a spot. During high season, early booking of accommodation and gala dinners is recommended.
