Celebrating the Iblei black truffle in the village of Ferla
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
Nero di Ferla – Black Truffle Festival is the food and wine event that transforms Ferla, a small village in the province of Syracuse perched in the Iblei Mountains, into the capital of Sicilian black truffle every summer. Established by the Municipality of Ferla in 2011, the festival aims to promote the Scorzone, a variety of black truffle rediscovered in the local woods that has become a symbol of identity and economic revival for the area.
The heart of the event is the grand convivial dinner in Piazza San Sebastiano: a single, long table set outdoors where guests gather to enjoy a menu entirely dedicated to black truffle. The dishes are crafted by the chefs of Fuori Classe, who blend Sicilian tradition with creativity to highlight the authentic flavors of the Iblei region. The setting, curated by local organizations focused on recycling and sustainability, combines elegance with environmental respect.
The evening is more than just gastronomy: live music, entertainment, and a host guide guests through an experience that weaves together taste and popular celebration. Places are limited and access is by reservation only, reflecting the intimate and curated nature of the event.
The festival is part of the town's summer calendar and represents one of the best opportunities to discover Ferla, recognized as one of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy. Nestled along the Anapo Valley, at the gates of the Pantalica Nature Reserve, the village preserves a Baroque heritage and a deep bond with the nature of the Iblei Mountains. A suggestive setting that makes Nero di Ferla much more than a simple food festival: a journey into the flavors and traditions of the province of Syracuse and Sicily.
The dates for the 2026 edition have not yet been announced by the Municipality of Ferla; the event traditionally takes place in August.
