Natale con Gusto is the culinary soul of the major Christmas event in Crodo, a town in the Verbano-Cusio-Ossola province, Piedmont, nestled at the foot of the Upper Ossola Alps. Originally conceived as a side event to the famous Presepi sull'acqua, this gourmet weekend transforms the historic center and the surrounding hamlets into a journey of flavors, aromas, and craftsmanship, best experienced by strolling past fountains, stone washhouses, and streams where nativity scenes float.

Five signature street food stations

The heart of the festival lies in its five signature street food stations, managed by restaurateurs from Crodo and its hamlets. The kiosks wind their way from Piazza Paggi to the portico of the Parco delle Terme, reaching the villages of Mozzio, Viceno, and Cravegna. Visitors are free to indulge in a single offering or try them all, creating their own personal gastronomic itinerary starting from any of the five points, open on both days from 10 am to 6 pm.

Crafts and gift ideas

Complementing the experience, about forty artisans enliven the village streets with food specialties, handcrafted creations, and gift ideas. Between local Ossola products, markets, and stalls, Natale con Gusto is the perfect opportunity for zero-mile Christmas shopping, celebrating local producers and traditional trades.

Inside the magic of the Presepi sull'acqua

The event is set within the unique framework of the Presepi sull'acqua, a tradition that, in its most recent edition, featured dozens of nativity scenes set outdoors among fountains, troughs, and ancient washhouses in Crodo and its hamlets, reaching altitudes of up to 1,200 meters. It is a charming route, accessible by day and night, enriched by guided tours, workshops for children, concerts, and exhibitions.

Organized by the Municipality of Crodo in collaboration with the Ossola Protected Areas Management Authority, Natale con Gusto is a festival that tells the story of the Alpine identity of the Antigorio Valley: mountain hospitality, genuine cuisine, and a deep bond with nature.
