The Narrazioni Parallele Festival is an itinerant event that traverses Piedmont from Turin to the Alps, weaving together music, theatre, dance, contemporary circus, and visual arts. In Fenestrelle, a small town in the Chisone Valley in the province of Turin, the festival finds one of its most evocative settings: the monumental Fenestrelle Fortress, the largest alpine fortification in Europe, nicknamed the "Piedmontese Great Wall".
The setting of the Fenestrelle Fortress
Perched along the valley slope, the Fenestrelle Fortress winds for kilometres through walls, staircases, and walkways. It is here that the festival stages its most spectacular shows, leveraging the dialogue between historic stones and contemporary live arts. The alpine portion of the festival transforms the village and the fortress into a natural stage, where performance meets the landscape of the Piedmontese mountains.

The programme alternates between itinerant performances, concerts, and national premieres, with a special focus on contemporary circus and singer-songwriter music. Evening shows, generally at 9 pm, take advantage of the unique atmosphere of the Fortress at sunset. Narrazioni Parallele — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of the Narrazioni Parallele Festival dedicates its richest alpine chapter to the Fenestrelle Fortress. It kicks off in late July with an itinerant performance between the village and the fortress, followed by three major international evenings in August blending music and contemporary circus, in one of the most spectacular settings in the province of Turin.

July 24-26 — Veni, vidi, so_lo sguardo che conosce
Itinerant performance by the Compagnia Tecnologia Filosofica, inviting the audience to change their perspective while moving between the village and the spaces of the Fortress. Preview on July 24, repeats on July 25 and 26.
August 10, 9 pm — This is not an encore
The Milanese dark trip-hop duo Not My Value brings their sound project to the Fortress, blending electronics and nocturnal suggestions.
August 11, 9 pm — Passion Galliano
Concert by Richard Galliano, one of the most important and internationally celebrated accordionists, in an event-evening at the Fenestrelle Fortress.
August 12-15, 9 pm — La Nuit Fantastique
National premiere of the French nouveau cirque company Les Farfadais with "La Nuit Fantastique — Avventura spettacolare nella Belle Époque", a show combining contemporary circus, music, and theatre in a journey through art, science, and society from the Belle Époque to the 1920s.

How to get there
Fenestrelle is located in the Chisone Valley, in the province of Turin. By car, it can be reached via the SS23 Sestriere road; the Fenestrelle Fortress is well signposted along the road passing through the village.
