The Night of Lights in Naturno
The Nacht der Lichter, or Night of Lights, is one of the most beloved summer events in Naturno (Naturns), a municipality in the Burgraviato district of the province of Bolzano, in Trentino-South Tyrol. Every Wednesday in July, the town center comes alive: the main street is closed to traffic and transformed into a long, illuminated pedestrian walkway where restaurants, bars, and local associations set up stalls along the entire route.
A mile of taste under the lights
The heart of the evening is the so-called "mile of taste": a series of food stations offering the best of South Tyrolean cuisine in an "Alpine Wellness" style. Visitors can stroll while sampling South Tyrolean specialties, fresh fish dishes, grilled meats, speck and alpine cheeses, the essential apple-based desserts (Apfelkiachl, Strauben, Krapfen), artisanal gelato, and local wines. Naturno, nestled among the apple orchards of the Val Venosta and the sunny slopes of the Nörderberg, is a land of great culinary tradition.
Music, shows, and entertainment
Beyond the gastronomy, each evening offers a rich entertainment program: live music with local bands performing at various points in the center, artistic performances of all kinds (aerial acrobatics, clowns, unicyclists, fire shows), and entertainment for children, making the event perfect for the whole family. Local shops take the opportunity to extend their opening hours until late, turning the event into a delightful evening shopping experience.
A fixed appointment in Naturno's summer
Organized by the Tourismusgenossenschaft Naturns (Naturns aktiv), the Night of Lights is now a permanent fixture in the town's summer calendar, attracting both residents and tourists vacationing in the Merano area and Val Venosta. The relaxed atmosphere of the summer evenings, the lights along the street, and the aroma of local specialties make this festival one of the most characteristic moments of summer in Naturno.
Night of Lights — edition 2026
The 2026 Night of Lights in Naturno returns on the four Wednesdays of July: July 8, 15, 22, and 29, 2026, starting at 6:00 PM. As per tradition, the main street of the town is closed to traffic and transformed into a mile of taste, where restaurants and associations offer South Tyrolean specialties, fresh fish, grilled dishes, speck, alpine cheeses, apple desserts, and local wines.
Each evening features live music with local bands, artistic performances (acrobatics, clowns, fire shows), and entertainment for children, while shops in the center remain open until late. Admission to the event is free.

2026 Dates: Wednesdays, July 8, 15, 22, and 29, from 6:00 PM.
- Gastronomy: A taste promenade along the main street with South Tyrolean specialties, fresh fish, grilled dishes, speck, alpine cheeses, apple desserts (Apfelkiachl, Strauben), gelato, and wine.

Where
Naturno town center (Ortszentrum), along the main street (Rathausstraße), 39025 Naturno/Naturns (BZ). The main street is closed to traffic during the event.
How to get there
By car: Naturno is located on the SS38 Val Venosta road, about 15 km from Merano. By train: Naturno station on the Merano–Malles (Vinschgerbahn) line. We recommend using the town's parking lots, as the center is pedestrianized during the event.
Admission
Access to the festival is free; you only pay for what you consume at the food stalls and local establishments.
