A night of culture within the medieval walls of Glorenza
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Nacht der Kultur, or Night of Culture, is one of the most distinctive summer events in Glorenza (Glurns), a small walled jewel in the Vinschgau Valley, in the province of Bolzano, in the Trentino-Alto Adige region. With just a few hundred inhabitants, Glorenza is considered the smallest town in South Tyrol and boasts an almost intact medieval wall, towers, arcades, and cobblestone alleys that serve as a natural backdrop for this evening dedicated to art, history, and literature.
For one evening, the entire historic center transforms into a widespread cultural trail. The town's workshops, restaurants, and cultural institutions remain open late, welcoming residents and visitors in an atmosphere of sober and convivial celebration. Stroll under the arcades, enter the historic towers, or linger in the courtyards to listen to live music: the event is designed as a slow experience to be enjoyed on foot, wandering from one corner of the city to another.
Over the years, the Nacht der Kultur has offered a rich calendar of activities distributed between the late afternoon and the night, including:
Live music, often provided by accordionists and local groups, accompanies the entire evening, creating a backdrop that ties the different stops together. The medieval atmosphere of the walls and towers, combined with the intimate scale of the village, makes the Nacht der Kultur an authentic and personal event, quite different from large festivals: here, culture is experienced step by step, between a courtyard and a square.
Organized by Glurns Marketing as part of the cultural initiatives of the Municipality of Glorenza, the event highlights the historical heritage and traditions of the Vinschgau Valley, in a bilingual territory where Italian and German coexist. Also included in the circuit of "The Most Beautiful Villages in Italy," the Night of Culture is the ideal opportunity to discover one of the most fascinating villages in South Tyrol in its most vibrant and welcoming form.
The 2026 edition of the Nacht der Kultur (Night of Culture) in Glorenza is expected, as in previous years, during the summer. At the moment, the official dates for the 2026 edition have not yet been announced and the program has not been published. Based on previous editions, the event is expected to feature its established format: exhibitions, guided tours, live music, tastings of Alpine products, and mountain film screenings in the historic center of the Municipality of Glorenza, in the Vinschgau Valley. Definitive information will be communicated by Glurns Marketing.
