Aerial circus and live music on the bell tower of Pruno, in the heart of the Apuan Alps
On Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 9:30 PM, the small village of Pruno, a hamlet in the municipality of Stazzema in the province of Lucca, becomes the stage for one of the most evocative events of the Musica Sulle Apuane festival. On the scenic bell tower overlooking Piazza di San Niccolò, "Les amants du ciel", an aerial circus and street theatre show by the Compagnia Mattatoio Sospeso, will be performed.
The show is an aerial duo that blends suspension acrobatics, vertical dance, clowning, and live music. The performers, suspended several meters above the ground, bring to life a poetic and amusing story, with Fellini-esque atmospheres and gypsy vibes. The highlight is the grand finale of the Femme Volante, accompanied by the notes of an accordion: a performance suitable for everyone, including families with children.
"Les amants du ciel" is the sixth of fourteen events in the 14th edition of Musica Sulle Apuane, a music and theatre festival that takes place from late April to mid-September 2026 among the villages, mountain huts, and trails of the Apuan Alps. The festival is organized by the Italian Alpine Club - Massa Section "Elso Biagi", in collaboration with the Apuan Alps Regional Park, with artistic direction by Gioia Giusti. The festival brings concerts and shows to places of great natural beauty in Tuscany, from the Auditorium in the Woods of Pian della Fioba to the meadows of Campocecina, from mountain huts to historic villages like Pruno.
In keeping with the spirit of the CAI, many events are accompanied by guided hikes. For June 20, a "Pruno-Acquapendente Waterfall" approach hike is planned, organized by the CAI of Massa, with registration required by June 19. The evening show in Pruno remains free to enter and accessible even to those who reach the village independently.
