Open-air chamber music at the Villa dei Capolavori in Traversetolo
Music with a View is an open-air chamber music festival that every year, between June and September, travels across Italy bringing concerts to the gardens, cloisters, and courtyards of exceptional historic residences, villas, and palaces. Conceived and organized by the AMUR Committee and Le Dimore del Quartetto, the festival intertwines the country's architectural and landscape heritage with the talent of young quartets and chamber musicians and with the support of Italy's leading concert institutions.
On a national level, the festival features dozens of concerts distributed across numerous regions: the 2025 edition brought together 24 national institutions, a hundred artists, and 37 concerts in 12 regions, accompanied by hundreds of collateral activities. The Emilia-Romagna leg takes place in the Municipality of Traversetolo, in the province of Parma, within the Emilia-Romagna Region.
The Parma evenings are set against the backdrop of the Villa dei Capolavori, home to the Magnani Rocca Foundation, in the hamlet of Mamiano di Traversetolo. The villa houses one of Italy's most important private art collections - with works by masters such as Titian, Goya, Renoir, Monet, and Morandi - and is surrounded by a large romantic park. The combination of evening concerts, architecture, and art collection is the distinctive feature of this stop: the music is literally listened to "with a view" of the garden and the masterpieces in the collection.
For 2026, the Magnani Rocca Foundation is hosting two events, both at 9:15 PM:
The Music with a View experience in Traversetolo goes beyond listening. Before the concerts, you can participate in a guided tour of the Foundation's collection, and complete the evening with dinner at the villa's restaurant. It is this formula - music, art, and hospitality in one place - that makes this stop particularly appreciated by the public from Parma and visitors to Emilia-Romagna.
The 2026 Parma leg of the widespread festival Music with a View brings two refined events to the Villa dei Capolavori. On August 20, the Duo Alberto Miodini - Pier Paolo Maurizzi presents Il Giardino delle Fate, piano four-hands with music by Schubert, Casella, and Ravel. On August 27, the Dorรจ Quartet with Emanuele Pauletta on guitar presents La Maja de Goya, with pieces by Granados, Castelnuovo-Tedesco, Boccherini, and Ravel. Both concerts take place at 9:15 PM in the park of the Magnani Rocca Foundation, in Traversetolo (Parma).
