The first Music Festival in the village of San Buono, Abruzzo
In June 2026, the village of San Buono, in the province of Chieti, hosted the first edition of its own Music Festival, joining the national Festa della Musica Italia circuit. The event took place in the green area of the Convent of Sant'Antonio, a picturesque space overlooking the sub-Apennine landscape of the Trento valley, transformed for one night into an open-air stage.
The evening offered a true musical journey: numerous artists took turns on stage, performing different genres and styles, from singer-songwriter tracks to more engaging rhythms, in a program designed to showcase the diverse expressions of musical art. The common thread was the universal language of music, capable of uniting the audience and performers in one big community celebration.
One of the most distinctive aspects of the event is its completely free nature: artists joined the initiative spontaneously, making it possible to host an event open to everyone in the spirit of sharing. The San Buono Music Festival was created as a moment of gathering, where the village square and its spaces become a meeting place for residents and visitors alike.
The event is promoted by the Pro Loco of San Buono in collaboration with the municipal administration and with the participation of local entities, including Bar in Piazza, Bar da Peppe, and the Tornese Arrosticini company. A collective effort that unites associations, institutions, and local businesses, in the typical spirit of Abruzzese festivals.
Located on a sub-Apennine hill in the Trento river valley, San Buono is a village in the municipality of the same name in the province of Chieti, Abruzzo, with ancient origins. The Music Festival is part of the village's summer calendar, helping to bring the Convent of Sant'Antonio area to life and strengthening the local cultural offerings during the period when Italy celebrates music in all its forms around June 21st every year.
The debut of the Music Festival in San Buono was held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, starting at 6:00 PM and continuing until 1:30 AM. The setting for the evening was the green area of the Convent of Sant'Antonio, which welcomed the public and artists in a festive atmosphere.
The program featured numerous performers with different musical genres and styles, in a journey through voices, sounds, and sonorities designed to celebrate the diverse expressions of musical art. The event, with free admission, was made possible thanks to the spontaneous participation of the artists and the collaboration between the Pro Loco of San Buono, the municipal administration, and local businesses, including Bar in Piazza, Bar da Peppe, and the Tornese Arrosticini company.
The Music Festival is held in the green area of the Convent of Sant'Antonio in San Buono (CH), Abruzzo.
By car: San Buono can be reached from the A14 motorway (Vastese exits), continuing along the local roads towards the Chieti hinterland. The village is located in the Trento river valley, between the Adriatic coast and the Apennines.
