About Music Festival

Every June, the Music Festival in Castelnuovo della Daunia lights up this village in the Monti Dauni, near Foggia, with two days of free concerts between Porta Lucera and Piazza Canelli. Organized by the Pro Loco "G.B. Trotta", the event brings together major national guests, cover bands, wind orchestras, and street performances in a lively, festive atmosphere. It is a celebration that welcomes the start of summer and highlights the musical identity and traditions of the Daunian Sub-Apennines, engaging visitors of all ages.

The Music Festival of Castelnuovo della Daunia

Every year, as summer arrives, the small village of Castelnuovo della Daunia, nestled in the heart of the Monti Dauni in the province of Foggia, transforms into a sprawling open-air stage. For two days, the Music Festival brings the squares and alleys of the historic center to life with concerts, shows, and shared experiences, drawing crowds from across the Daunian Sub-Apennines and the Capitanata region.

Organized by the Pro Loco "G.B. Trotta" in collaboration with the Strumenti & Figure association of Lucera and under the patronage of the Municipality of Castelnuovo della Daunia, the event has grown with each edition to become one of the most anticipated musical highlights of the Daunian summer. The artistic direction is entrusted to Maestro Francesco Finizio.

A program featuring major guests and live music

The Music Festival alternates between concerts by nationally renowned artists and performances by local bands, cover bands, wind orchestras, and choral groups. There is no shortage of street entertainment, with jugglers, stilt walkers, and fire performers guiding the audience from one square to another, alongside musical workshops for children and evening concerts that continue late into the night.

The two beating hearts of the event are Porta Lucera, where the traditional ribbon-cutting ceremony takes place, and Piazza Canelli, which hosts the main concerts. Over the years, well-known names in Italian music have graced the stage, reflecting the festival's growing ambition.

A village in the Monti Dauni to discover

The Music Festival is also a perfect opportunity to explore Castelnuovo della Daunia, a village perched at an altitude of over 500 meters among the hills of the Sub-Apennines. The musical evenings blend seamlessly with the discovery of the historic center, its picturesque views, and the genuine hospitality of Puglia, creating a perfect marriage between entertainment and local heritage.

Free admission

All events at the Music Festival are free of charge, in keeping with the popular and inclusive spirit of the event, which is designed to involve the entire community and visitors of all ages.
