About Music Festival

Every year, to mark the European Music Festival on June 21st, Albano Laziale celebrates the universal power of music with free concerts that bring the town's squares, churches, and historic venues to life. From classical music to jazz, and from choral performances to folk sounds, the festival curated by Maestro Alberto Annarilli transforms this Castelli Romani town into a widespread stage, where great musical tradition meets the public in a festive and shared atmosphere.

The Music Festival in Albano Laziale

The Music Festival is the event through which Albano Laziale joins the European Music Festival, the major celebration born in France in 1982 and held annually on June 21st, the summer solstice, in hundreds of cities across the continent. Promoted by the Municipality of Albano Laziale through the Department of Cultural Policies, the festival brings live music for free to the heart of the city, amidst the squares and historic spaces of the Castelli Romani center, in the Lazio region.

A program ranging from classical to jazz and choral music

Under the artistic direction of Maestro Alberto Annarilli, who has long been dedicated to enhancing the local musical culture, the program spans diverse genres and eras. The evenings range from classical and baroque music to jazz, and from choral performances to folk sounds, with a special focus on the quality of the performers and an educational approach designed to engage even the less experienced audience.

The heart of the event is the «Anna Di Baldo» Civic Music Center on Via Anfiteatro Romano, complemented by charming locations such as the Noble Hall of Palazzo Savelli and the small square of the Santuario di Santa Maria della Rotonda, which provide the backdrop for the evening concerts.

Festival Venues

  • «Anna Di Baldo» Civic Music Center — Via Anfiteatro Romano 20, the main concert venue
  • Noble Hall of Palazzo Savelli — Piazza Salvatore Fagiolo, located in the town hall
  • Santuario di Santa Maria della Rotonda — the picturesque square hosts the open-air evenings

A free festival for everyone

All events are free to attend: the Albano Laziale Music Festival is not just for a select few, but an invitation to the entire community, in line with the original spirit of the European event. Within the calendar of the Municipality of Albano Laziale, in the province of Rome, the event represents one of the most anticipated musical moments of early summer, capable of uniting residents, enthusiasts, and visitors of the Castelli Romani through the universal language of music.
