The festival dedicated to wind instruments in Albano Laziale, featuring jazz and classical music

The Albano Laziale Wind Festival is one of the most highly regarded musical events in the Castelli Romani region. Held every autumn in Albano Laziale, in the province of Rome, in the heart of Lazio, it has established itself over the years as a key destination for wind instrument enthusiasts. Under the artistic direction of Maestro Maurizio Persia, the festival features a program that alternates between major names in jazz and classical music, fostering a continuous dialogue between genres and generations.
As the name suggests, the event focuses on wind instruments: the trumpet, saxophone, and clarinet are the absolute stars of the evenings. The program ranges from the most sophisticated jazz language to the great classical and chamber repertoire, offering the audience a high-quality listening experience. Furthermore, every concert is recorded and broadcast on the festival's YouTube channel, which has surpassed one hundred thousand views since 2021, expanding its reach well beyond the city limits.
One of the most inspiring aspects of the festival is the Teen Festival, a competition reserved for young soloists aged 13 to 19. It is a precious opportunity for students of wind instruments: winners receive professional videos to showcase their talent to a wider audience. In this way, the festival serves not only as a showcase for established artists but also as a launchpad for the new generation of musicians.
Concerts are held at the "Anna Di Baldo" Civic Music Center on Via Anfiteatro Romano, a space dedicated to music and culture by the Municipality of Albano Laziale. Its location, just a short walk from the city's archaeological sites, allows visitors to combine musical enjoyment with the discovery of the rich historical heritage of Albano.
Now in its eighth year, the Wind Festival is organized by the Municipality of Albano Laziale with the support of the Cultural Policy Department. The format, featuring affordable ticket prices and free admission for youth events, reflects the desire to make great music accessible to the entire Castelli Romani community and visitors who come to Albano Laziale on autumn Sundays.
The new edition of the Albano Laziale Wind Festival is expected, as per tradition, in autumn 2026 at the "Anna Di Baldo" Civic Music Center. The program, featuring the usual concerts dedicated to trumpet, saxophone, and clarinet, as well as the Teen Festival competition for young soloists, will be published by the Municipality of Albano Laziale closer to the event. Information will be updated as soon as it becomes available on the official channels of the event.
