The running race on the legendary Mugello Circuit
The Mugello GP Run is one of Tuscany's most evocative running events: a race held entirely on the asphalt of the Mugello Circuit, the international racetrack that hosts the MotoGP Italian Grand Prix every year. Setting foot on the same track surface used by the world's fastest riders, tackling the famous elevation changes and iconic curves, is an thrill that draws thousands of participants from all over Italy every year.
The event is held in Scarperia e San Piero, in the heart of the Mugello region in the Province of Florence, inside the Mugello Circuit facility. The event takes place in January and traditionally marks the opening of the circuit's sporting season, set against a winter atmosphere made electric by the magic of the venue.

Organized by A.S.D. Maratona Mugello, the GP Run is much more than just a race: it is a day of celebration that unites sport, local territory, and conviviality. In the Expo area set up in the Paddock garages, local and national exhibitors, entertainment, and activities take place, while the Paddock becomes the event's headquarters. After the finish line, refreshments and award ceremonies on the circuit's Official Podium complete the experience, leaving participants with the memory of a truly unrepeatable run in the evocative hilly landscape of the Mugello.
The 13th edition of the Mugello GP Run opened the 2026 sporting season of the Mugello Circuit on Sunday, January 18, with a weekend of events in the Paddock garages of Scarperia e San Piero. The event recorded 4,261 participants, confirming its status as one of the most beloved running events in Tuscany. On Saturday, January 17, the Expo area opened its doors with exhibitors, entertainment, and an aperitif dedicated to volunteers; on Sunday, after the children's race, the main race started at 11:00 AM on the legendary asphalt of the circuit, followed by the award ceremony on the Official Podium and free access to the facility.
The Mugello Circuit is located in the municipality of Scarperia e San Piero (Florence). By car, take the A1 motorway and exit at Barberino di Mugello, then follow the signs for the racetrack. Ample parking is available at the facility.
Register online via the ENDU portal or by email to the organizers. It is also possible to register in person at the GP Run Expo in the Paddock garages on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning, with increased fees.
Registration includes a race bib, disposable chip, insurance, medical assistance, refreshments, access to changing rooms, showers, facilities, and a participation prize. Free admission for the public.
