About Tartufo Bianco — Carbone

Straddling late October and early November, Carbone, a village in the Serrapotamo Valley within the Pollino National Park, becomes the capital of Lucanian white truffle. Three days of gastronomy, nature, and culture, with food stands, truffle ground excursions, and major concerts, in one of the most anticipated autumn events in Basilicata.

The kingdom of white truffle

Every autumn, the small village of Carbone, in the heart of the Serrapotamo Valley and the Pollino National Park, transforms into the capital of Lucanian white truffle. The Mostra Mercato del Tartufo Bianco del Serrapotamo, established in 2007 and now a fixture of autumn in the Province of Potenza, attracts thousands of visitors each year: the 2025 edition alone surpassed 15,000 attendees, record numbers for a municipality of a few hundred inhabitants.

Three days of taste, nature, and culture

The event unfolds over three days, intertwining food and wine, hiking, and entertainment. Food stands offer truffle-based dishes and local products, while volunteers from the Truffle Hunters Association guide visitors on excursions to truffle grounds and foraging in the Serrapotamo woods. There are also cooking shows with local chefs, guided tours of the historic center, and cultural moments. In the evening, the village comes alive with major concerts: in 2025, Nina Zilli and Krikka Reggae performed on stage.

Atmosphere and context

Carbone is a village of great charm, dominated by the mother church dedicated to San Luca Abate and nestled in the Pollino woods. The market exhibition is organized by the Municipality of Carbone together with the A.P.S. Tartufai del Serrapotamo E.T.S., with the support of the Basilicata Region, the Pollino National Park, and numerous partners. It is the perfect opportunity to experience the Lucanian autumn in its richest form: amidst the intense aroma of truffles, the colors of the woods, and the warmth of a community that makes this event its pride.

Tartufo Bianco — Carbone — edition 2026

The XIX edition of the Mostra Mercato del Tartufo Bianco del Serrapotamo is expected in Carbone between late October and early November 2026, following the record-breaking XVIII edition (over 15,000 attendees). Three days of food stands, truffle ground excursions, and evening concerts.

After the record-breaking 2025 edition, the XIX edition of the Mostra Mercato del Tartufo Bianco del Serrapotamo is expected in Carbone between late October and early November 2026. The precise dates will be confirmed by the Municipality of Carbone and the Associazione Tartufai del Serrapotamo in the coming weeks.

The event, held annually since 2007, will once again offer its winning formula of three days dedicated to Lucanian white truffle, featuring food stands, guided excursions to truffle grounds, cooking shows, cultural visits, and evening concerts.
