When thread meets glass: contemporary dialogues between matter and memory
In the glassmaking village of Altare (Province of Savona), the Altare Vetro Arte exhibition reaches its fourteenth edition in 2026 with the exhibition "Filo e Vetro – contemporary dialogues between matter, space, and memory". Set up in the spaces of Villa Rosa, home of the Altarese Glass Art Museum, the exhibition relates two apparently distant materials that share fragility and expressive power: thread and glass.
The exhibition brings together the works of five artists — Levenson, GuildA, Geraldelli, Rindone, and Mantello — who, through different languages, explore the themes of matter, space, and memory. Thread, with its textile and narrative dimension, meets glass, with its transparency and its Altarese history, in a comparison that becomes a reflection on fragility and time.
Sponsored and included in the cultural program of Altare, the exhibition enriches the offerings of the Altarese Glass Art Museum, broadening its perspective towards contemporary art. It is an opportunity to discover Villa Rosa and its heritage in a new light, within the season that culminates with the Altare Glass Fest, in the heart of the Savona hinterland.
The exhibition "Filo e Vetro", as part of the XIV edition of Altare Vetro Arte, can be visited from May 16 to July 12, 2026, in the spaces of Villa Rosa, home of the Altarese Glass Art Museum. The exhibition creates a dialogue between thread and glass through the works of five artists, exploring the themes of matter, space, and memory in a contemporary key.
