Four days of celebration for the patron saint of Vado Ligure
The Festività Patronale di San Giovanni Battista is the most important event of the summer in Vado Ligure, a town in the province of Savona overlooking the gulf. The celebrations, spread over four days around June 24th (the saint's day), combine the religious dimension with a rich program of civil events.
The festival offers conferences, children's shows with puppets and dance, activities like Pompieropoli, concerts, and the traditional fireworks over the sea. The civil heart of the festival is the Fiera di San Giovanni, which animates the Giardini a Mare with stalls and a market.
The most solemn moment is the mass followed by the procession in honor of San Giovanni Battista. Organized by the Municipality of Vado Ligure with the parish, the festival involves the town's squares, gardens, and seafront, confirming itself as an identity event for the Savona community and an attraction for nearby towns.
For 2026, the patronal festival takes place from June 21 to 24 in Vado Ligure, with a program spanning four days of religious and civil events.
It begins on June 21st with a conference and the choir I Pertinaci; on the 22nd, a puppet and dance show for children; on the 23rd, Pompieropoli, the SheRocks concert, and fireworks over the sea; on the 24th, the saint's day, the Fiera di San Giovanni at Giardini a Mare, mass, and the evening procession.
