Festival della Maiolica – Albisola Superiore

The Ceramics Bay tells its story

Four municipalities, one great tradition: Savona, Albisola Superiore, Albissola Marina, and Celle Ligure form the "Baia della Ceramica" (Ceramics Bay), one of Italy's most important artistic districts. The Festival della Maiolica, organised by the Savona Ceramics Museum Foundation, celebrates this heritage with a widespread programme that in 2026 reaches its fourth edition, focusing on the theme of artist gardens.

Albisola Superiore's programme

In Albisola Superiore (Province of Savona), the festival features an exhibition by students from the advanced Design and Contemporary course at the Municipal Ceramics School, set up at the IAT tourist office, and a guided tour of artist gardens and cultural sites, organised by the Friends of Casa Jorn. Among the events are the conclusion of the SpiaggiArtE project and the presentation of the participatory project Coeval, as well as the unveiling of a relocated artwork on the Passeggiata Montale.

A festival that unites art and territory

With twelve exhibitions across the four municipalities — including works by Ugo Nespolo and Isabella Labate, and installations at the Casa Museo Jorn and the Ceramics Museum — the Festival della Maiolica is much more than a showcase: it is a choral narrative of the ceramic identity of the Riviera di Ponente, weaving together historical memory and contemporary creation.
