A summer evening on Lake Ledro in Mezzolago with live music and traditional dinner
Midsummer Night is one of the most anticipated summer events in Mezzolago, a village in the Municipality of Ledro, in the province of Trento (Trentino-Alto Adige). Every year in mid-July, the beach at the Parco Feste Mezzolago transforms into a natural stage overlooking the crystal-clear waters of Lake Ledro, one of the most beautiful and swimmable alpine basins in Trentino.
The event is organized by the Pro Loco Mezzolago, an association founded in 1952 that has spent decades preserving and promoting the traditions of this small lakeside community. Midsummer Night is perhaps its most evocative expression: a village festival that combines great music, authentic flavors, and the beauty of the lakeside landscape.
The heart of the evening is live Italian music, presented in a truly original setting: the band performs from a floating raft moored offshore, allowing the notes to drift across the water while the audience listens from the shore. Covers of the best Italian pop music, a tribute to the years that defined the local pop scene, and the rhythm of the DJ set accompany guests late into the night, amidst shimmering reflections and the magical atmosphere of the sunset over the lake.
It wouldn't be a true Trentino festival without its cuisine. At Midsummer Night, the bar service offers refreshing drinks, and the food stall serves dinner featuring carne salà e fasoi, the signature dish of the Ledro Valley: beef marinated with salt, herbs, and spices, served with beans. A culinary pairing that tells the story of the alpine farming history of this region.
Midsummer Night ideally kicks off the season of major summer festivals in Mezzolago, which continues in August with the famous Megapolenta di Patate, another historic event organized by the Pro Loco. Those visiting the Ledro Valley during this period will find a vibrant area, with well-equipped beaches, mountain hikes, and a rich calendar of events livening up the lakeside villages of the Municipality of Ledro.
The Midsummer Night 2026 returned on schedule on Saturday, July 11, 2026, in Mezzolago, in the Municipality of Ledro. On the beach of the Parco Feste Mezzolago, the Pro Loco enlivened the evening with live Italian music performed from a floating raft on Lake Ledro, followed by a DJ set until late in the evening.
The gastronomic side was not to be missed, with the bar and the dinner featuring carne salà e fasoi, the typical dish of the Ledro Valley. This edition was part of the National Pro Loco Day weekend, which saw dozens of events across various communities in Trentino.
Mezzolago is located on the shore of Lake Ledro, along the provincial road connecting Pieve di Ledro to Molina di Ledro, in the Municipality of Ledro (TN). By car from the A22 Brenner motorway: take the Rovereto Sud exit, then follow signs for Riva del Garda and Val di Ledro. Parking is available near the beach.
Admission to the festival is free. Dinner featuring carne salà e fasoi and drinks at the bar are paid for on-site. Reservations are recommended for groups by contacting the Pro Loco Mezzolago (tel. +39 340 2867667, [email protected]).
Bring comfortable clothing and a sweater for the evening: temperatures drop by the lake once the sun goes down. The Parco Feste beach is also ideal for spending the day at the lake before the event.
