About Midsummer Night

Midsummer Night is the festival that brings the beach of Mezzolago, on Lake Ledro, to life every July in the Municipality of Ledro (Trentino-Alto Adige). Organized by the Pro Loco Mezzolago, it is an unmissable summer event: live Italian music performed from a raft in the middle of the lake, DJ sets, a bar service, and a dinner featuring carne salà e fasoi, the signature dishes of the Ledro tradition. An evening where the lake meets the mountains, amidst warm lights, reflections on the water, and the unique atmosphere of a sunset over Lake Ledro.

A night of music and tradition on Lake Ledro

Midsummer Night is one of the most anticipated summer events in Mezzolago, a village in the Municipality of Ledro, in the province of Trento (Trentino-Alto Adige). Every year in mid-July, the beach at the Parco Feste Mezzolago transforms into a natural stage overlooking the crystal-clear waters of Lake Ledro, one of the most beautiful and swimmable alpine basins in Trentino.

The event is organized by the Pro Loco Mezzolago, an association founded in 1952 that has spent decades preserving and promoting the traditions of this small lakeside community. Midsummer Night is perhaps its most evocative expression: a village festival that combines great music, authentic flavors, and the beauty of the lakeside landscape.

Live music on a raft in the middle of the lake

The heart of the evening is live Italian music, presented in a truly original setting: the band performs from a floating raft moored offshore, allowing the notes to drift across the water while the audience listens from the shore. Covers of the best Italian pop music, a tribute to the years that defined the local pop scene, and the rhythm of the DJ set accompany guests late into the night, amidst shimmering reflections and the magical atmosphere of the sunset over the lake.

Carne salà e fasoi: the flavors of the Ledro Valley

It wouldn't be a true Trentino festival without its cuisine. At Midsummer Night, the bar service offers refreshing drinks, and the food stall serves dinner featuring carne salà e fasoi, the signature dish of the Ledro Valley: beef marinated with salt, herbs, and spices, served with beans. A culinary pairing that tells the story of the alpine farming history of this region.

A summer of events in Mezzolago

Midsummer Night ideally kicks off the season of major summer festivals in Mezzolago, which continues in August with the famous Megapolenta di Patate, another historic event organized by the Pro Loco. Those visiting the Ledro Valley during this period will find a vibrant area, with well-equipped beaches, mountain hikes, and a rich calendar of events livening up the lakeside villages of the Municipality of Ledro.

Midsummer Night — edition 2026

The 2026 edition of the Midsummer Night took place on Saturday, July 11, 2026, on the beach of Parco Feste Mezzolago, on Lake Ledro. The Pro Loco Mezzolago offered the now-traditional formula: live Italian music performed from a raft in the middle of the lake, DJ sets, bar service with refreshing drinks, and a dinner featuring carne salà e fasoi. An evening of celebration amidst warm lights, reflections on the water, and the sunset over the lake, in an atmosphere where the lake meets the mountains.

The Midsummer Night 2026 returned on schedule on Saturday, July 11, 2026, in Mezzolago, in the Municipality of Ledro. On the beach of the Parco Feste Mezzolago, the Pro Loco enlivened the evening with live Italian music performed from a floating raft on Lake Ledro, followed by a DJ set until late in the evening.

The gastronomic side was not to be missed, with the bar and the dinner featuring carne salà e fasoi, the typical dish of the Ledro Valley. This edition was part of the National Pro Loco Day weekend, which saw dozens of events across various communities in Trentino.
