The read-aloud festival for children aged 0-6 in Druento
Mi fai una storia? is a one-of-a-kind reading and listening festival in Italy, designed specifically for children aged 0 to 6 and the adults who accompany them: parents, grandparents, nannies, educators, teachers, and librarians. The Druento edition, located in the Metropolitan City of Turin, takes place at the Ipazia d'Alessandria Civic Multimedia Library (via Morello 10) and offers two days of free workshops, read-aloud sessions, early childhood concerts, and professional development.
The core philosophy of the event is simple yet profound: reading with children, from their very first months, is an act of care and connection. Following images, listening to a story, and discussing book pages together becomes a precious opportunity to build bonds and introduce little ones to the joy of storytelling. The festival promotes shared, read-aloud experiences in line with the principles of the national "Nati per Leggere" (Born to Read) program.
The program alternates between children's workshops and adult training sessions, led by professionals in publishing and early childhood pedagogy. Recurring highlights include creative workshops with illustrators, animated readings by award-winning authors, concerts for babies inspired by Edwin Gordon's Music Learning Theory, and in-depth meetings for those working in early childhood education.
The festival is promoted by the Il Bambino Naturale Association and Il Leone Verde Edizioni, in collaboration with the Ipazia d'Alessandria Civic Multimedia Library and under the patronage of the Municipality of Druento. Artistic direction is provided by Anita Molino. All events are free, with booking recommended due to high attendance from families across the Province of Turin and the Piedmont region.
Born in Settimo Torinese and now established in Druento, "Mi fai una storia?" has quickly become a reference point for families in the Turin metropolitan area. The municipal library setting, a symbol of local culture, makes the encounter between children, books, and those who write and illustrate them feel even more natural.
The 2026 edition of the Mi fai una storia? festival in Druento offered a weekend full of free events dedicated to reading and listening for children aged 0 to 6. The Ipazia d'Alessandria Civic Multimedia Library hosted creative workshops, animated readings, training for teachers and educators, and a concert designed for little ones.
Guests included writer Elisa Mazzoli (two-time Nati per Leggere award winner), illustrator Lara Tassini, and musician Laura Bossi, who conducted the "Concerto bambino!" inspired by the Gordon method. The program confirmed the successful formula of combining activities for children with in-depth sessions for adults, in a festive and exploratory atmosphere.
Other workshops included "Cat giraffe rabbit lion", a playful activity involving badge-making. All events are free, by reservation ([email protected]).
