The Mesagne Theatre Season is the cultural highlight that, each year between winter and spring, raises the curtain at the Municipal Theatre, a historic venue located on Via Federico II di Svevia in the heart of the town in the province of Brindisi. Promoted by the Municipality of Mesagne in collaboration with Puglia Culture and the Teatro Pubblico Pugliese circuit, the festival blends classic prose, brilliant comedy, social theatre, and new drama, bringing top-tier national talent to a small town in Salento.
Quality programming
The schedule alternates between well-known faces from theatre and television and local Apulian companies. From Giobbe Covatta to Enzo Iacchetti, and from Sebastiano Somma to productions by the Teatro Koreja of Lecce, audiences find a perfect balance between popular shows and more experimental works. Alongside prose, the season also features musical theatre, tributes to great Italian songwriters, and projects dedicated to younger audiences through the "La scena dei ragazzi" section.

Mesagne Municipal Theatre — edition 2026
The 2025/2026 Theatre Season at the Municipal Theatre of Mesagne, promoted by the Municipality in partnership with Puglia Culture, presented seven events between February and April 2026. A journey that combined major national prose, brilliant comedy, and social theatre, with forays into musical theatre and a section dedicated to younger audiences.
The programme opened with the intelligent humour of Giobbe Covatta and continued with the meta-theatrical play by Greg and Ninni Bruschetta, the tribute to Domenico Modugno by Teatro Koreja, and the portrait of Pablo Neruda interpreted by Sebastiano Somma. The season also made space for new drama and youth theatre, concluding with a comedy starring Enzo Iacchetti. Performances took place at 9:00 PM at the Municipal Theatre on Via Federico II di Svevia, in Mesagne, province of Brindisi.

14 February 2026 — "A Mirror"
- With Ninni Bruschetta and Claudio "Greg" Gregori, alongside Fabrizio Colica, Paola Michelini, and Gianluca Musiu — a reflection on theatre, identity, and stage illusion.
27 February 2026 — "Modugno prima di volare"
- Teatro Koreja, directed by Salvatore Tramacere — the origins of Domenico Modugno before his success.
14 March 2026 — "Matilde, l'amore proibito di Pablo Neruda"
- With Sebastiano Somma — an intense portrait of the great Chilean poet.
21 March 2026 — "Fare un fuoco"
- With Luigi D'Elia, dramaturgy by Francesco Niccolini — a show from the "La scena dei ragazzi" section.
7 April 2026 — "Amleto take away"
- By and with Gianfranco Berardi and Gabriella Casolari — an ironic and poetic reinterpretation of the Shakespearean classic.
14 April 2026 — "Buongiorno, Ministro!"
- With Enzo Iacchetti and Antonella Civale — a brilliant comedy to close the season.
